Ay, lus supporter--kinda : I also have never understood why service trucks/vans with out of state license plates are always performing
work in this area. WHAT I ASSUME, IS THE CADRE OF COUZANS/PADHS IN OTHER STATEs, have "" A DIFFERENT RATE OF EXCHANGE FOR THE DOLLAR BILL!
"""I THINK THE DOLLARS OF OUR LOCAL COMPANYS, DIFFER FROM THE DOLLARS OF THOSE OUT OF STATE COMPANYS. THE OUT OF STATE COMPANYS DOLLARS, ARE BANKED IN ANTIQUA. THEREFORE """NO RECORD OF THE BILLS SERIAL NUMBERS ARE ON FILE IN THE U. S. A. THESE BILLS HAVE A SUBSTANCE CALLED """STICKUM""", ON THEIR BILLS........... THIS INSURES, THAT IN THE TRANSACTION OF MONEY EXCHANGING HANDS, ""THE BILLS ARE SORT OF STICKY TO THE TOUCH"", THEREFORE WHEN HANDLING THE BILLS, NO BILLS ARE DROPPED AND THERE IS NO DANGER OF THE WRONG PARTY RETRIEVING THE PRE-DECIDED AMOUNT OTHER THAN THE AMOUNT WHICH HAD BEEN SETTLED UPON PRE/POST BID PROCESS... - NORTHSIDIAN SHOTGUN

As a long time supporter of LUS and Fiber I am dismayed by the miserable impact to our local economy this project has had. To defend this statement, take a look at the next fiber installation truck and look at the license plate. In addition, ask the person who is installing your system “who’s your daddy” or “I think I know your family ”or“ who dat .Chances are they cannot pronounce Leblanc, Hebert, or Langlinais and do not have a local address or bank account. Millions of dollars have been spent on this project and I would like to ask Joey and Terry how much of this money has been spent locally? Promises were made that this fiber project would bring jobs and money to Lafayette. The project is projected to cost over 100 million dollars and just a fraction of this would have vaulted a local company to register in the “Times, Top 50 Companies in Acadiana”. I cringe at my LUS bill, my local taxes, my payroll taxes and the advertisements promoting LUS fiber when I know very little is being done to make the company I work for more profitable by the project I supported. I am floating this blog out there for response and feedback. - LUS Supporter..KINDA

Ay, i firmly believe in museums, zoo's & parks especially those entertainment avenues for children, and help fund these facilities that they be available for everyone, especially for those children whose parents and / or foster parents, are unable to provide entertainment for these children........
But, to accept these be funded with my tax dollars, and provide some kook with the opportunity to display an outrageous un-imaginative,
17 century corset on a clothesline or set a piece of broken rebarb curbing material salvaged from the refuse pile on display, just to enable some wanna be artsy, frustrated, mentally impaired peep an outlet for a hidden repressive, illogical-imagination or a crushed ego a rehab moment, thats is not art, maybe that is a therapeutic outlet for some wacky, flustered peep who deigns his talent worthy of a place in the sun. but, to fund these peeps who are unable to accept that they should take their frustrated egos to a nice restaurant and doodle on the cartoon figures printed on the sheets of children coloring books they put out for children placemats - NORTHSIDIAN SHOTGUN

As a side note to Peep goat....I like my fiber, thank you. I am glad we have that choice in this town of "movers and shakers". What they are "moving and shaking" sometimes confuses me.
At least we have a decent "road" to the outside world! AT&T and Cox gave me the slow road to nowhere. - Pedro

If we don't pay new taxes how are we going to get new/improved roads? The same goes for public education. We must stop giving money/taxes and expecting no accountability. Two of the most important things Lafayette needs are better traffic/roads and accountability in our public schools. We need to stop laughing and start taking responsibility for our community and our future.

The condition of the roads!!! NO NEW TAXES. In fact, why not lower some, like property taxes !!!

NO TRYING TO RIG BIDS TO GIVE WORK TO FAT CAT CAMPAIGN DONORS OR FRIENDS!!! (Look at how well that worked out with the Mayor's friend the EX-police chief.....)

Repair the roads. Open them up to alleviate traffic. - Morrow

Thank you Mike Walker for addressing the "other 23" individuals featured in this article.
_______________________________

Biggest Issue: Narcissism. People today worship the unholy trinity — me, myself and I. Self focus leads to delusion, disappointment and destruction. We need leaders and a populace who will buck the trend of “meism” and chart a counter culture course. Putting others before yourself takes maturity. Serving others is a lifestyle that crafts a high level of impact for good. True greatness is not measured by what we attain but by what we give away. The challenge in Acadiana is to practice this character quality of selflessness year round, not just the holidays.

Seems to me if Ms. Jan Swift is constantly late for her appointments, then the Upper Lafayette Economic Development Foundation should find a new executive, one who doesn't keep their potential clients and interest groups waiting. - respect

In fact, did they actually ask him, or did they do what I would have done....write his name, quotation mark, LUS Fiber is gonna be great, then something about all the social ills Fiber's gonna correct, then close quotes and save the cost of the phone call:) - ragin_cajun
