I see the total waste of money in full swing at UL Lafayette. There are more Assistant Vice Presidents and newly created positons at the administrative level than ever before. A new privacy fence around the President's house where the FLOOD lights remain on 24/7, instead of sending memo after memo to every employee on campus via email, the administration should be sending them via email, faculty did not receive a pay increase last year and civil service employees received 2% which is half of the usual 4% earned to increase salaries that are nationally ranked at the poverty level! Would someone in the position to make a difference PLEASE do something about the waste. The administration is blatantly telling the employees and students at UL Lafayette, "UP YOURS". They continue to cut away at lean, bare minimum areas of the budget and NEVER EVER cut away at the wasteful FAT areas of the budget because they would have to cut into their fat, hefty administrative areas. Dr. Authement was much more conservative and I for one greatly appreciated that. - I C The Waste

Maybe its time for UL to implement open admissions again. I know more than a few people who attended USL via open admissions and have sucessful law practices and accounting firms. One was CEO of a major oil company. He had a difficult time passing his English Lit courses, but he did, and he had a brilliant mind for numbers. He was very organized and methodical. I think a lot of good minds aren't getting a university education and could under open admissions. If the cuts are necessary, CUT. I remember a time when dental hygiene was taught by LSU med program. - Morrow
