Jesus, there is a stymied progress of this city, ya don't go from a 2-horse town to ah Clydesdale team, led by a birdseed salesman and a television person whose station airwaves carry 50 miles. you want to be a Champion, you have to employ/elect Champions. In football parlance, you can't become a winner with a fourth-rate team.........
That, ain't no jive !

Jesus, as time goes on, the dollar value declines, and costs increase,
THE CAMILLA BRIDGE FINALIZATION IS ""SIAMESE BOUND TO THE LOOP CONSTRUCTION"""! THE ESCALATING NUMBER OF PARVENU who were purchasing the Ambassador Caffery parkway, " future loop", right of way were stumbling all over the drool of their own crony peeps, scrambling to grab land from the unsuspecting land owners......after studying the plats........THE SAME SCENERIO FOR THE ACADIANA MALL! SHEEET GO TO THE COURT RECORDS AND SEE WHO OWNED THE LAND UNDER THE AMBASSADOR ROAD AND THE LAND ON EITHER SIDE OF THE ROAD ,THE LAND UNDER CAMELLIA BLVD. AND SURROUNDING MASS OF LAND BORDERING CAMELLIA, RIVER RANCH, THE WHOLE
CA-CA POT, WHEN THE TIME CONSTRUCTION BEGAN, THE DUST HAD SETTLED.....
"ITS CALLED PROGRESS, AND IT IS TIGHTLY CONTROLLED BY OUR GOVERNING ADMINISTRATION....

THATS ? " WHY ITS CALLED A RAT RACE, ONLY RATS ARE ALLOWED TO GORGE". - NORTHSIDIAN SHOTGUN

Converting Johnston to a boulevard is a fantastic idea. The light rail is a pipe dream at best. We already have a loop. Its called Ambassador Caffery Parkway. It was built on the outskirts of the city as a loop believe it or not. But somehow, once the mall was built, along came walmart and all the big box stores, with way too many red lights. thats progress for ya. - Southsider

THE CAMELLIA BRIDGE DELAY WAS DUE TO ALL THE SLICKERS NOT HAVING PROPERTY PURCHASES FINALIZED BECAUSE SOME PEEPS WERE NOT EASILY,OR SPEEDILY JEWED OUTTA THEIR LAND HOLDINGS, ALSO THE CITY OF LAFAYETTE LEADERSHIP, COULD NOT COME TO TERMS WITH THE DIVISION OF THE PIE ....
VIOLA ! A CHANGE IN LEADERSHIP, ALL LAND TRANSFERS FINALIZED, "" THE PIE STEADILY INCREASED IN QUANITY DUE TO ???????? AND EVERYONE WAS ECSTATIC OVER THEIR SLICE OF """ THE PIE, DAS ALL FOLKS !

DUREL'S COMPREHENSIVE PLAN SHOULD INCLUDE A CHANGE OF JOB STATUS FOR HIMSELF PERSONALLY, AND HIS CO-HORTS !!!!! - NORTHSIDIAN SHOTGUN

I agree the rail transportation is stupid. Its just stupid. And I'm not so sure about Johnston St. because I think most of the owners/renters of buildings on that road will revolt. And I think the cost would be astronomically prohibitive.

Now, for the record, I want city/parish government out of the business of the iniversity and the university to see to its own business. Before dollars got tight, each was just fine minding their own business and that is how I believe it should stay! I don't trust either one to do business with the other and the past university's president's attempt to make another sweetheart deal with and for his friends come to mind..... - Morrow

● Conversion of Johnston Street into a boulevard

● Light rail transporation within the city

Are you kidding me? It took 50 years to get a damn bridge built across the Vermilion. Keep dreaming. Anyway, they are both terrible ideas for Lafayette - Let's restrict traffic on the major artery through Lafayette and build a transport that NOBODY will use. If anyone thinks people in Lafayette will abandon their cars and use mass transit is crazy. Lafayette is not even laid out in a way that makes it feasible for most people. This is not NYC people.

What is really needed is a loop around the city so traffic will stop clogging the residential streets. - ace
