I was at a city council meeting almost a year ago when a man living in a crime ridden neighborhood stood up and said that to the council. What have they done about it? Parish Courthouse is falling down? LCG just gave one away! It was too old! How much was spent "revitalizing" downtown? Creating an "arts district" on Jefferson, or "entertainment district", or improving "quality of life" in Lafayette? Should have used that money for more adult priorities that we can all agree taxes should be used for....jails, drainage, courts, maybe even LUS. An arts district? NGO's? Quality of life? No, I think that the city needs to just lay in the bed that it made for itself.
