Why is ULL referred to as UL? Lafayette should be part of the name , like it legally is, why be ashamed of it?
Other than local media, everyone else in the United States refers to ULL as Louisiana Lafayette. Perhaps LL should be the shortcut. - hot sauce

Hot Sauce--

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I had no idea what all the LUS hype was about. But I did like you said, I put my finger in a socket here in Lafayette. Then I drove to Crowley and did it. No doubt about it--LUS makes MUCH better electricity--electrons are faster. "Dat's fancy" I think everyone in Lafayette should try it so they can see for themselves. - ragin_cajun

I think it would something to note, this is also the Republican strong hold in the Democratic state, where we keep the government off the backs of the people and let them go about their buisness. And not the intolerate republicans we hear about either. Everyone can go about their life here with our great outlook on life!! Long live the great city/parish of LAFAYETTE- Lassiez la bon ton rouler!! - Been here a while

You are wrong. LUS makes the purest electricity. Its won awards for purity. The stuff they make in Crowley is junk compared to LUS. Just stick your finger in an outlet and find out. - Hot Sauce

I think Lafayette is big enough. I think we already have more people than we need. I'd like to see people NOT move into Lafayette. And I think that LUS as one of 3 factors that caused Lafayette to grow is just hilarious! I hit "find" in my browser, and nowhere in this article is the word "interstate" found--as in I-10 or I-49, or how about Hwy. 90? Could it perhaps be the intersection of 3 major highways that spurned this growth. I'd say that transportation is much more important to growth of a city than who owns the electric utility. - ragin_cajun

Also, thanks for recognizing the disc golf community in Lafayette. With that being said, Girard Park is a horrible place to play. Throwing around obstacles are one thing, but throwing around people is another.

Acadiana Park is where its at. Also PA Davis, but don't go there after sunset. - Solutions

Leave it to some of the dumbasses in Lafayette to start this BS on a thread about why Lafayette is great. The fact that someone from the LGBT community is being quoted as saying he is able to live comfortably in this town should be celebrated. Now let's get back on point. This town is one of the greatest places to live in the nation. The worst part about Lafayette is that it is in Louisiana. - Solutions

Had to google what LGBT meant. And LGBT is not normal, so why should you should be treated as normal. If you are gay, thats your business, but don't try to popularized it and make it look normal. You could ruin a normal persons life.
