Through much consideration of your problem, walter........it is in my best interest to offer my splendid freebie offer to consult you through the rigors of establishing a course of action as follows: " the employees of your weekly newspaper must immediately consolidate their efforts and embark on an expansion of the media, "the independent.com, the only recourse, i forsee at this time is for The Independent to submit a under the table bid and purchase the lafayette daily rag............the under the table bid, would allow the gannett group to sell the business and save face, before "the lafayette daily rag" is placed on the sheriffs auction block, this is not a major possibility, just a major probability..........this offer is good for 10 working days and is offered as a one time offer, in good bonded faith.............. - northsidian shotgun

AFavor, are you a government, welfare and food stamps recipient, you seem to go heavy on freebies being " COOL, you got a job ?
the arts are a meaningful, soulful, pleasurable, enlightening form of entertainment, it is just that the value of the arts doesn't quite equate to a full belly of food to the poverty level peeps and therefore not a necessity in life, as where a full belly of food certainly means life is good, and the government says we the working peeps should provide the food for the poor, but nowhere does any law say we the working peeps are to pay taxes to fund the arts, in any manner, whether it be museums, painted pelicans, murals on ugly buildings, etc. you want to stand in front of a huge painting of a can of campbell chicken soup, well by all means that is your right, have at it, but don't ask me to finance the exhibit, for your uh-uh. Enjoyment?????? - northsidian shotgun

afavors, new york is cool, chicago is cool, los angeles is cool, las vegas is cool, miami is cool, and a couillie such as you is really not qualified to judge just how " cool", "the new orleans jazz fest, really is, and if you, in your self-appreciative mode fail to realize the stupidity of your comment pretending that you are capable of judging what or who is cool when actually, cool is infinite in scope, more than you could ever imagine in your wildest dreams, hah, you would probably, say the "fonz was the cool dude you ever met, HUH ? - EXISTENTIALIST MAN

I disagree strongly with ragin_cajun. Since when do "cool" things need to make money. The "coolness" of the festivals/art "fluff" is that they are free to the masses. Yes, the New Orleans Jazz Fest is a wonderful thing, but by charging ticket prices that aren't cheap, its "coolness" is limiting. Lafayette should try to be "cool" to as many as possible. It's what makes Lafayette so COOL. - AFavors

I live in the city, and I'm against all of the arts and festival fluff in the budget, anyway. If this stuff is so "cool", couldn't it make it without taxpayer subsidies? - ragin_cajun
