Just google "fluoride health" & "dental fluorisis" (because fluoride actually makes teeth WEAKER and destroys them. this is why dentist favor it so you run to the dentist and give them money. There is no reason for a dentist unless you want braces or something along that nature. If you would eat natural what comes from a PLANT and seed that isn't modified by companies like monsanto out for a profit the same as the dentist/tobacco companies). I should also note, the same as fluoride, cigarettes only kill because of the radioactive fertilizers used to grow the tobacco. Please do not take his word as a reliable source, as I have done my research. I am not a doctor nor am I a dentist, but I am an active citizen that has the capacity to read published medical research papers on fluoride and develop conclusions on water fluoridation based upon my readings. Mr. Pierce, it seems, is either unwilling or incapable of typing the words "fluoridation effects" into a Google search bar. Please try this. You will have reliable medical research papers on the effects of water fluoridation at your fingertips. Although you will find some dentists still supporting water fluoridation, the overwhelming majority of research indicates negative effects on consumers including but not limited to bone cancer, harm to infants, lowered IQ, brittle bones, and dental fluorosis. It is unethical for organizations such as the ADA to remain ignorant of the latest medical research and to continue advocating for water fluoridation. Water fluoridation is an outdated practice and I am hopeful that the citizens of Louisiana will come together and prevent it from affecting our entire state. - J. S. The people of Lafayette and the City-Parish Council learned that it is inefective for teeth, dangerous to health and absurdly uneconomical. Dr. Elise Bassin, DDS, Harvard University, published a study in 2006 in a prestigous cancer journal showing a 600% increase in bone cancer for young boys from fluoridated communities. How many deaths are tolerable in order to continue an outdated practice? Sixteen countries in Europe have rejected fluoridation and Europe is now 98% fluoride free, and their decay rate is better than any fluoridated country. They have no business offering opinions on the "safety" of dosing everyone with an unknown amount of toxic fluorides, every day for the rest of their lives without ever checking for adverse reactions. Many "dentists" think that the only reaction is "cosmetic" fluorosis of the teeth.
