Ragin -- I was there, too, I was the guy who asked Bellard and Theriot if the city was so great why don't they move here. Ken Boudreaux stated several times why he wanted to decon' -- because representatives in non-city districts are voting on programs/budgets that are 100% funded by the city taxpayers that affect Zero percent of non-city taxpayers, i.e., police, fire, LUS. It's a clear case of taxation without representation. And, Walter -- pairing the words prescient and William Theriot in the same sentence is quite oxymoronic, with emphasis on the moron. - Lou Rom on KVOL

RAGIN CAJUN, " WE ", are missing everything !
When the these slicksters, claim something needs fixing, you can bet your life that something is afoot, it just takes quite a while for their damage to materialize, they are sort of slow, not maestro's like Uncle Eddie, they have to put their pawns in place...
But first they must grease some political lackeys palms, then they will spring it on everyone, once they buy the lackeys, and the pie is divvied up, and you and i will say, DUH ! - NORTHSIDIAN SHOTGUN

I was at the council meeting last night, and I didn't hear why the "city guys" want to deconsolidate. And I also don't understand why the "parish guys" care one way or the other. If parish taxes are used for parish projects, and city taxes are used in the city, then what's the difference? Deconsolidation wouldn't change the parish budget one bit. There'd be a separate parish council, with the same budget as today--what else would change?

I'm missing something, huh? - ragin_cajun
