Hole In The Donut, What would you want to see, would you like to see me hire a PR Mouth such as you, to state my point. *My point being that there exist too many hidden agendas. All is not as it appears, and peeps like you who have no visible substance, being a hole is empty space as is your rebuff. You always seem to crawl out of the woodwork to defend the the above mentioned politico's and their cronys, what is your interest in these politico's and their cronys...........My message is "a personal alert\" declaring that it is time for the citizens to snap and block the greedy land grabbing by the cronys with an open door and first dubs to the surrounding annexed lands with the help of the governing administration........I have my correct change and i earned it thru sweat and long days of work. I dislike standing by and watching the uneducated, get duped and their holdings stolen cheaply, by the local Co-joined administrations crooked cronys, and not one soul caring or complaining........ - Good Time Charlie

I don't think our 10 year olds need to "learn" how to act like children. Perhaps we could have our council members learn to act like 10 year olds, that might be a step up in maturity. - 1

Back then Joey was fresh out of the BIRD SEED AND CAT LITER selling business, and Dee was looking up at Blue Ruffles up on the news desk, wishimg he could be like Al ROKER, and his Dream of marrying Blue on the "Barnum and Bailey Ferris Wheel, was shattered when he absent-mindedly forgot his "Saturday Night Live John Travolta Brown and White Boots and the Ferris Wheel Attendant refused him admittance onto the Ferris Wheel, cause his head did'nt reach the height limit bar! Thats when they decided to "CONSOLIDATE " Joey wanted to leave a legacy, like Clinton..
"A legacy with the help of the power brokers, who in return for getting Joey elected, they figured they would kill two birds with one Fensterman's Survey Stake... and Dee would ban any Street Fairs who dared to make him walk under the height requirement bar, and refuse him admittance onto the Ferris Wheel...........and Bertrand and Comeaux figured the Circus should be annexed into Lafayette, and that by annexing the "Aceneaux Park in Broussard, where the circus had driven stakes each year, the loss of tax revenue by City Of Lafayette , which the city of Broussard was receiving - Good Time Charlie !

I think that it is hard to do business in a place where the city-parish government changes every 10-15 years--if it looks like there's going to be constant upheaval, that's got to have a chilling effect on the economy. This severely undercuts confidence in city-parish government, and that lack of confidence bleeds into every issue the government addresses.

If consolidation was such a bad idea, only 10-15 years ago, I'd like to hear the reasons why it was done. What did they hope to achieve by consolidating city/parish government?

Didn't anybody then look at the charter and ask "why do councilmen outside of the city get to vote on city issues that do not affect many/any of their constituents?"

What did Joey Durel, Don Bertrand, Conrad Comeaux, Dee Stanley think about all this back then? Did they participate in the Charter commission back then? - ragin_cajun
