Mayor Brasseaux's assertion about Mayor Kenny Bowen, is a convenient distraction - but is not correct. The largest Lafayette annexation initiatives occured during the Lastrapes administration.

Regardless of who led Lafayette annexation efforts in the past, the percentage growth land mass in the City of Lafayette over the past 4 decades is dwarfed by the absolutely overzealous land grabs by the smaller towns - whose land mass increased over 6000% in at least one instance. Also, the real disappointment is that city-wide municipal services are severely lacking in many parts of these small towns. It is the nearly irrational growth of some of the small towns that define an inappropriate use of the "land grab" technique. - Real Facts

Besides, Brasseaux asserted, forced to choose between Lafayette and a small town, rural residents will almost always opt for a small-town government to provide their services. “

What is exceedingly humorous about this silly statement is the absolute fact that the little cities make up 15% of the total population. Mayor Brasseaux, 85% of the people of Lafayette Parish choose NOT to live in a small town. Time to leave the past where it is. - Bittertotheend

Castille ! You are one extraordinary spinmiester. Yes Kenny Bowen's name was brought up....to make a comparison, with the M. O. undertaken, by the current Lafayette Parish Administration, and i am saying this literally "UNDERTAKEN,...explicitly, sneaky under the table dealings of the Parish President, with his select,
co-joined business goons, who have their hand in every Parish Project, which comes up on the board. - Existentialist Homme
