I will give Mrs. Blanco one thing, our reigning governor, Gov. Raj, seems to be another "teflon" governor. Seems as if his know nothing-do nothing until a month after the incident just rolls off of his back. I'm sure its killing Mrs. Blanco that he's getting off so easily, but she has to remember he's been "courting" supporters since before he took office. His term as governor has allowed him to kiss butt at taxpayers expense, while the state was going into the crapper before this addtional catastrophe. Big Oil was the one thing Louisiana had going for it and Big Oil was keeping this state's economy going. Without BIG OIL and without our seafood industry, our "outdoor paradise", all we are is a big bunch of "ignorant coon****s" And I DETEST THAT TERM, but if you believe "those" people, the oakies, and the red necks and, these days, the yankees and the foreigners, don't still think that's what we are, you're sadly mistaken. Because we have so little worth, its not a big deal that the state is ruined. Did you see 'THEM" squirm when that oil was going to MS, AL and FLA? Too bad those states think they're in the clear. They'll be destroyed too. BIG BUSINESS they are our dictators. We will be lost. - Morrow

She needs to stay home and enjoy her over-paid state retirement check with Ray. (who also gets over-paid for retirement). Why doesn't the IND. investigate state retiree benefits? - I Noticed

Uhh.... did any of you people actually watch the interview with KATC? She's not triumphantalistic or self-righteous in that. You can tell that she's another commentator at this point, speaking from her experience and from her current position on the sidelines, offering advice to others who may be so swept up in response efforts, that they may be caught up in tunnel vision. It's scientifically proven that in times of stress, human perspective can break down easily. Some are more seasoned in their preparation and instincts for such issues, nontheless.

It's like having a fresh set of eyes give you feedback on a project you're working on.

Just beceause she got it wrong 5 years ago doesn't mean she has NO lessons to offer from that experience. In fact, it's the only we as people can grow. The wisdom is in being able to recognize the value others can offer and pausing to listen. It's what all good leaders in life do... the idea that you are more important than I am, no matter what, and that there may be wisdom in a crowd, or in stepping back. Honor simplicity at times, and think deeply where things require complexity.

As for C. Ray.... whole nother story there. - Unempirical Observer
