Anytime you have practicing attorneys endorsing judges publicly, it would be wise for the general public to ignore most of these post and the comments of the author of this article. Get out and meet these candidates if possible and ask questions. If you are not satisfied with the answers given, move on to another candidate. Avoid the good ole boys club endorsements and do your homework. - Justthefacts

How anyone could not recognize that Buzz Durio is not the hands down most qualified candidate for this position is beyond me.Judge Keaty is running a popularity contest at bthe expense of the taxpayer and the judiciary. Her only exposure to the third circuit is through the reversals they have handed her. - Independently Healthy

I had the unique privilege of working for Judge Mike Sullivan when he was on the Court of Appeal, and then for and with Buzz Durio for nearly 12 years. I personally know and have good relationships with of all of the candidates in this election. Based on my experience with both gentlemen, I can unequivocally say that Buzz is the most experienced and best qualified candidate to succeed Judge Sullivan. Buzz has represented individuals, small companies and large companies - both plaintiffs and defendants - in civil and criminal matters in state and federal district and appellate courts for 33 years. Having "made a record" many times in district court bench and jury trials, and appealed from or defended the trial court's judgments, he has a fundamental understanding of the appellate court's function in reviewing trial court records. Buzz's superior legal analysis skills, legal writing ability, and work ethic will serve him well on the Third Circuit. I am admittedly biased, but I urge you to compare every candidate's experience and qualifications. If you do so without any preconceptions, I'm confident you'll reach the same conclusion on an impartial basis. I humbly urge you to vote for Buzz Durio. Many thanks. - IndThinker

"It is my occupation to be plain."

30 years as a trial lawyer is a lot to brag about.

A "first-class legal mind" should be settled on pholosophy by now and not switching party.

I'm with Jefferson on this on this one "...I never submitted the whole system of my opinions to the creed of any party where I was capable to think for my self. Such an addictionis the last degradation of a free and moral agent. If I could not go to heaven but with a party, I would not go there at all" - Honest Kent

The article is clear that Keaty is the only candidate from Lafayette, has raised more than double the other candidates combined, is well liked and respected, and is heavily favored.

After all, Judge Keaty is the only candidate with even A SINGLE DAY of judicial experience in State Court.

But, I can't believe they would try to make it sound like a bad thing that a Judge works til '8 or 9 at night'. How ridiculous. The article even says they've cut times for family matters by 70%. Without the nitpicking over comp time for an employee, there's not even any reason to write this article.

For a Judge to work long hours to make sure families are properly heard is a good thing. We need a lot more of that from our public servants.

Judge Bouillion's intelligence, strong work ethic, and command of the jurisprudence are extraordinary. Judge Bouillion has more pertinent experience than any of the other candidates; she is the best candidate for the Third Circuit. - Catherine Ellison

I practiced law with Francie Bouillion at Gordon, Arata for several years. She has a first-class legal mind and a strong work ethic. In addition, as a matter of judicial philosophy, she believes that judges should apply the law, not make it up as they go along. She has my support, and I hope that she will get yours as well. - Ben Blanchet

Buzz Durio seems to be the most ready to take on this job. I can't believe Keaty is allowed to hold court in such an irresponsible way. - observer

I agree with olderofthethree, although Buzz is not a sitting judge, he seems to understand the position and have the experience needed. - lafayetteguy

why not elect the one with some truly long private practice experience? this guy buzz seems to really get what the appellate judges really do day in and day out...and he's coming from outside. that can only be a good thing right? plus I think making payroll for 30+ years makes you appreciate being efficient. efficiency seems like what this circuit court needs. - olderofthree
