Great job .. I'm truly blown away! It's fantastic to see these high caliber ideas, coming out of the Architecture department at the University, come to life and really bring an awareness to our community. Not only the green concept but the simple, modern design approach as well. Excellent work! - BJBJ

Corey you have made an extraordinary landmark for Lafayette and Louisiana. The point you make about financing a project of this kind is the critical reason it remains illusive for new home construction. Your approach of creating a passive rent house will undoubtedly inspire others to use this business model. The architecture while responding to the primary issues of passive energy consumption is welcoming and intriguing. - Angelique Hernandez

Nice topics, I am looking this type of topics. But I need more informations. I know a New Drafting CAD Site gives away over 100 House plans for free.

Links to more info would be more useful (as mentioned above). Why not SIPs? I see some of the European Solar Decathlon homes are generating 3x more energy than they use. - Peter K

Direct gain passive solar rules! Nice to see an article backing up what I have known by living in my passive solar home for over 25 years, which I built for under $10 a sq ft-

Nice job! This kind of building is our future.
However, $120/sf is not possible with hired labor. You must not be including labor costs; the article indicates design and GC services are free-would you mind posting all the costs? Thanks! - acornpc

Way cool, or warm as necessary. But does the per square foot cost include the tax credits? I still question if solar panels are cost effective in the long run. If they are damaged or fail, they must be replaced; and that takes time and more money. Of course LUS may not be any faster but you do get the pleasure of calling Terry Huval names but you don't have to pay, well not directly. Nonetheless, the passive aspects are to be admired. - Peter Principle
