mpatin--

Because that is what NCAA requires news outlets to call UL Lafayette. We are not "Louisiana", or "UL", and I well remember there was a big commotion to block UL Lafayette from marketing itself as "UL", or "Louisiana".

LSU is the flagship university of this state, and UL Lafayette will not upstage them with a more prestigious moniker. You need to get it right.

Why do you continue to use UL Lafayette. We are UL, Louisiana or Ragin Cajuns. Get it right - mpatin

And those d^^k heads running higher ed in Louisiana have the nerve to raise tuition!!!! Its beginning to look like the education system in Louisiana is nothing but a ponzi scheme to keep jobs and retirements for those who collect employment checks and to H=ll with whether any young people are learning anything! The Louisiana tax payer is at the bottom getting nothing. I remember when collge profs and administrators were respectable. Now its just a matter of money. Did TOPS do that??? Is it that now the university system thinks there are unlimited dollars. I already know middle class kids who work and can't afford college. Two parents working, they work, and have to take a few nightr classes. And the aholes running the system care nothing more than buying a little more time till they're able to retire. Its sickens me to see what the univsrsity where I earned my degree has become. Integrity in any sector in Louisiana is becomming difficult to find. - Morrow

Really Dudes, i would think it is much more important, that we be concerned with the problem of the chirin not getting a Big Chief Lined Tablet and a no. three yellow pencil, than to become pre-occupied with whether there are 20 or 40 colleges, throughout the state.
*** Lets see if this makes sense, there are many kids with both of their parents holding down jobs, and having to sacrifice to obtain a higher education for their young, if not for schools within travel distance from home each day, many kids would not obtain an education, and this is due to dorm expense, meals expense, etc.
As in the case of some familys, with many so children.. I'm not talking about Familys on the Government Assistance system, I"M TALKING FAMILYS WITH BOTH PARENTS WORKING, TO FURTHER THEIR CHILD'S EDUCATION.... - " NORTHSIDIAN SHOTGUN "

40 seems like way too many to me. In a state as small as Louisiana, 40 colleges is excessive. Could we not consolidate that down to 20, or 10? - ragin_cajun

Ya think possibly this year the students will begin getting the BIG CHIEF lined writing tablets and the no. three yellow pencil again ?
Or does this mean a raise for our semi-literate teachers.... to aid them in raising the students grade-point average to a D+? - NORTHSIDIAN SHOTGUN

I counted 40, ragin_cajun: 16 in the technical college system, 11 in the LSU system, eight in the UL system and five in the Southern system. - Walter Pierce, Managing Editor
