So they can vote for City of Lafayette leadership, they can be elected as officials of the City of Lafayette, as elected officials they can pass laws that don't affect them, but they are not eligible to serve on the Charter Commission to determine "the fate of (the City of) Lafayette’s" CONSTITUTION.
Who are they?
Answer, the non-consolidated Parish residents living in the towns of Broussard, Carencro, Duson, Scott, and Youngsville.

Fooled me once, shame on them, fooled me twice, shame on me.

I want a City of Lafayette Charter Commission served by only registered voters of the City of Lafayette.

Someone clear up something for me....

I was under the impression this commission is serving, UNPAID, not even reimbursed for gasoline expenses, for the good of the community. Am I wrong in that?

If these people are giving their time, juggling their schedules, 'cause they believe this is an important concern for the people of Lafayette parish, I would like to give my appreciation and support. Now, I know there might be some motivated by future aspirations, but the fact remains, THIS IS A NO WIN SITUATION for these people, because they are guaranteed to make someone unhappy. This is certain to win enemies as well as friends. It may even cost some of these people some business in their everyday lives. Even if I don't like what they do or say in the future, I appreciate they have decided to try. - Morrow

Wow, just one woman on the whole commission, and nary few more to even apply than that.
Ya know, wouldn't we have thought in retrospect that they shoulda made some requirements for that too, countering all that testosterone based thinking likely to take place on such a corps? - Unempirical Observer

I thought one had to work for the AMERICAN DREAM, this seems like a race to see who wins more RETIREMENT CHECKS, from the LAFAYETTE PARISH COFFERS, Where is JOEY DOE'NT next move, hopefully to the " CURB " ! - NORTHSIDIAN SHOTGUN
