LUS screwed up and hired semi-established nitwits as consultants. They hired very few local companies to do the work and promised Lafayette "fiber good...copper bad". I laugh my you know what off every time I see the orange pipes with mud being pulled up again "fiber conduit lines being installed by non-Louisiana companies". Thanks for the laughs...Terry & Joey… Google? Youtube? - LUS_Lafayette_Made_ wrong_decisions

All4Capitalism conveniently fails to remember that there is another side to press coverage that governmental entities experience - the not-so-complimentary experiences. Does he think the private companies would like all of their goings-ons to appear on the front page of the paper or be the lead story on the 6 pm news.

Let's face it before LUS Fiber, the cable company's standard line to customers with weekend cable TV service problems was to wait until the following week to get service. Their prices were going up several times a year and they never offered anything close to the special deals they offer today. Community sponsorships - they were non-existant.

Basically the cable company ran their business like the defacto monopoly it was. No rate regulation and no service regulation.

Thank goodness for LUS Fiber - I love their service. I'm all for Lafayette! - All4Lafayette

So now the Independent practices censorship. I guess my last post didn't make the "cut." I'm sure this one won't either. - All4Capitalism

This is NOT journalism. This is a sales pitch for LUS Fiber. Is this part of their "aggressive" ad campaign? I'm sure every private company in Lafayette would appreciate the free media that our local government gets. Private companies have to PAY for such a luxury. - All4Capitalism
