Bertrand is a low-life Barfing Politician stealing from the tax payers as do all the rest of the low-life politico's in Lafayette Parish, birds of a feather interbreed together and that is why they even resort to doing one another, so as not to change the pedigree. - NORTHSIDIAN SHOTGUN

Walter--

"Bertrand says he was unaware that such a form was required."
The ethics board made him well aware of it. Then he asked for a waiver. Then the board DENIED THE WAIVER in September of LAST YEAR. So he just decided not to pay it? But now that the board is going to raise the fine, he figures he'll pay it?

Compassionate, Don Bertrand and the tax and spend liberals running LCG had to increase your utility rates. LUS needed the money for upgrades and maintenance...right?

Well...and they also had to loan LUS Fiber $5.6 million, which of course, if Fiber can't pay it back, then LUS Utilities customers will be forced to foot the bill. - Don Bertrand RINO

"he votes to raise YOUR property taxes while living in an apartment, thus avoiding them. "

He does? I don't recall any increase in property taxes voted in since Mr. Bertrand has held office.
---

Not Amused you're probably right! I'm confusing that Don Bertrand with the one on the council that voted for a "no bid" garbage contract.

But I'm not sure which Don Bertrand just voted to raise my utility rates? Can you help me out with that one. - Compassionate One

Leave Britney alone! Leave Don Bertrand alone!

Poor Donnie. He doesn't need to pay any stinking fine! He's one of our elites and above it all.

After all, he votes to raise YOUR property taxes while living in an apartment, thus avoiding them.

As fred Sanford would say "YOU BIG DUMMIES". The laws don't apply to those who are elite. - Compasionate One

written by ragin_cajun Don Bertrand's trouble . . SHOULD receive the same treatment as Brandon Shelvin's. . , and Chris Williams'. . .

I can't wait to read The Independent's coverage of this.
-------------------------

Kind of looks like the Ind is covering it. Nevertheless, failing to file reports is pretty common. Unlike holding three jobs during the same working hours. Unless, Williams is Superman. Look, up in the sky, it's a big fat blimp! No, just Williams. - Krusty

ragin_cajun, the IND is a shill for Don Bertrand. He was tagged by IND staff who graded council members as the only one who "gets it".

I hear he's being groomed to either run for Mike Michot's term limited state senate seat....or... Page Cortez's state rep. seat if Cortez runs for Michot's spot.

Imagine that liberal Republican representing Lafayette taxpayers in Baton Rouge!!!!!!!! - Don't Hold Your Breath

And Don Bertrand's trouble with the Ethics Board SHOULD receive the same treatment as Brandon Shelvin's legal problems, and Chris Williams' recent troubles.

I can't wait to read The Independent's coverage of this. - ragin_cajun

Bertrand needs to go. This has been dragging on for 2 years, now. He needs to issue a very detailed explanation of why he refuses to disclose, why he refuses to pay the fine, and why he is continually in trouble with state government. In writing, posted on a website, for the public to see. What would happen to you if you didn't pay a traffic fine? What would happen if you didn't pay your property taxes? Why is he above the law?

"According to Ethics Board documents, Bertrand is on the hook for $400 for failing to file a campaign finance disclosure report on time last year. He had until Nov. 5, 2009 to pay the late fee. Last July, Bertrand requested a “good cause” waiver of the fee, which the board in September 2009 declined to grant." -- The Independent - ragin_cajun
