"It's like England running their colony"... Can't argue with that, as this is the way this "gov't" has been run since so called "consolidation." - Clint Reno

Mais, Can You Say, COCK AH DOODLE DOO ?
Government is teeming with zealous neer do gooders who spend their entire careers imposing laws on the general populace. Laws from/of which they themselves are insulated, Government laws are designed to control and limit the average citizen, Joseph P Voter, and preserve the differential of "grandoise first class style, between the haves and the haven't..
Duh Norma, what this means is You and the others, take a number and stand in line .
Aye ! Are the biscuits ready ? - NORTHSIDIAN SHOTGUN

"...within LCG’s jurisdiction..." How is it people who live outside "LCG's jurisdiction" get to make laws, impose fees and taxes, direct the spending of those fees and taxes, and vote for and be elected to run those limited few who live within the legal jurisdiction?

It's like England running their colony.

Oh, but don't worry, only those living in the jurisdiction can legally be appointed by those living outside the jurisdiction to "correct" the governing charter.

And those living outside the "jurisdiction" will get to vote on that "correction".

Can you say "arbitrary and capricious action”?
Can you say” gerrymandering” of districts?

Definitely by all means give them bouncers a psychological evaluation and a brainwave test and some drugtest and a script for industrial strength valium and xanax triple strength and find out if they hate their daddy and still snuggle with mama when its lightning in the sky or during loss of power., or on monday morns. - NORTHSIDIAN SHOTGUN

It doesn't state that this applies to police officers. It just says "within LCG's jurisdiction" which is a geographical reference (city/parish). So anyone who is employed as a bouncer would have to pay this newly created LCG tax. - Clint Reno

" 'cause at over $25/hr security work,"

You make it sound like they're just rolling in money. That's not really even time and a half for a cop. If they start at $40K a year, that's $20 an hour. If they only get paid $25 an hour, that's pretty much straight time for overtime work.

I'm surprised they can get cops to work bars for such a pittance. Stand around a room full of people drinking and having fun, but maintain a professional distance, and don't drink a drop, for $25 an hour? They'd make more money cutting grass. - ragin_cajun

Sounds like a great idea. At first I thought it was to make officers working security take special courses and that's a good idea too. The officers would have to pay for it themselves though, 'cause at over $25/hr security work, they can pay for their own training and licensing. That would be a good plan. - BoFred
