It's too bad. I don't trust either one. Fayard is young, inexperienced, and support Obama. Dardenne on the other hand is a career politician with a questionable voting record. God help us. - They both stink IMO

I was thinking on voting for Fayard. Only because she's cute. But, now after reading their answer's to the questions and given Jay Dardenne voting record. I'm not voting for either of them. - Plumpy

Dardenne is the clear choice. He created the community and technical college system for Louisiana. He authored the Motion Picture Tax Credit that's brought thousands of dollars and billions in revenue for this state. He created mandatory DNA testing for criminals and the Single Board of Ethics. He was Senate Finance Chairman and Secretary of State, and did a helluva job as both.
Try to distort Dardenne's voting record all you want but the fact is - this guy has done incredible things for Louisiana and, if elected Lt. Governor, he will continue.

I still can't believe this race. To the Buffoon Griffon's of the world, Jay is a far left liberal. To Frayard supporters, Jay is a "David Duke Republican."

The truth is Jay is conservative but he is smart about what can and cannot be done. Abortion is a great example. Jay has been anti-abortion his whole life. But he is smart enough to know that it doesn't matter how many bills you pass in the Legislature outlawing abortion, those bills are not worth the paper they are written on as long as the Supreme Court says abortion is protected by the first amendment.

And for some reason, that drives the far right crazy. They would rather vote for Obama-on-the-Bayou Frayard than for Jay. That's just plain crazy in my book.

All the best,

Soop - Soop

Giving Obama a B+...eeewww, but she possibly needed to be consistent. Thinking Melancon best represents LA, not really, maybe this was a subliminal message to Vitter. Jay Dardenne is the true liberal, his record backs him up. Jay Dardenne will be selling Hanukkah instead of Christmas to Louisiana. He will have the Menorah instead of the Christmas Tree displayed. He's pro-abortion, a womanizer (who would make Vitter look like a choir boy), has voted 22 times for higher taxes, voted against LABI over a dozen times on major legislation, voted to give taxpayer-funded LIFETIME healthcare benefits to term limited legislators, voted for the "Clone & Kill Bill", voted to legalize sodomy, voted to double the size of the state budget during each regular session, voted to prohibit free sporting tickets for legislators while receiving free tickets for Tiger Stadium Suite, voted for the ethanol mandate bill that will increase gas prices by an estimated 67 cents per gallon and there's more...Jay Dardenne is not for serving the people, Jay Dardenne is self-serving! (Sources: Official records of the LA Senate, www.legis.state.la.us, www.forgotston.com, 2003 LA Family Forum Survey, LA Assoc. of Business & Industry voting records) Vote the career politician out!!! Geaux Caroline Fayard!!! - Fayard Supporter

Jay Dardenne is one of the most ethical politicians in Louisiana history. He is a long-time conservative who got unfairly pummeled by the right. Now there is a clear choice between an experienced Republican and a Goldman Sachs lawyer with ZERO experience at any level in Louisiana politics. Her biggest involvement in politics are two internships (one at the White House and one at Congress). INTERNSHIPS!!!!! Jay Dardenne has been a City Councilman, State Senator, and Secretary of State. At any moment the Lt. Governor could become Governor, and even if you are a Democrat, you have to agree we don't need an intern in there!. Geaux Jay! VOTE DARDENNE - Louisiana GOP

Q.) Will you make the office of Lt. Governor your full time job?
J.D) No. I will have an outside law office to keep open, out of state mediation work to do and speaking engagements that I get paid for (but which really benefit the state too).
C.F) Yes.

Fayard is trying to run a positive campaign and doing a good job of it. Questions like these leave no choice but to give an unpopular answer or be negative. She is still a better choice than Jay. He dosen't even want this job, in a year he will run for Governor. Leave him where he's at and let him get beat for Governor next year. - George

I wasn't sure until Bill Clinton robocalled supporting Fayard saying she was a "liar". (I think he meant lawyer, but he drawls so much). Later, I find out she's a Wall Street attorney representing AIG and Goldman-Sachs, and a bunch of other trough hogs. How could she be living here if she's working in New York? Why didn't the reporters ask about the drilling de-facto moratorium? - Phil
