"Halliburton reminds me of the USSR, in control of everything" That's ridiculous. KBR employs about 50,000 people, and Halliburton employs another 50,000--that's 100,000 employess.

Bank of America employs 300,000. Pepsi employs 200,000. Wal-Mart employs 2 MILLION. The government employs 20 MILLION.

So who is "so big now, so in every aspect of life, so powerful"? I think you better really take a close look at Wal-Mart my friend. :)

Also, I seem to remember the Halliburton employee, the cement hand on the rig, told the company man that the cement job sucked, it needed to be redone cause something was wrong. I believe they call that a "squeeze test"? The results of that test, showing the amount of pressure the cement job could hold are somewhere right now. That tells everyone all they need to know, it is an objective fact, and it puts the blame for this right where it belongs. It's a number...what was it?

I look forward to hearing comments from some others knowledgeable in the industry. Squeeze test, shoe test, I know I'm not the only one who knows what that is. - ragin_cajun

Halliburton is WAY too scary. They are so big now, so in every aspect of life, so powerful. I think this BP thing will go away and the extent Halli was involved will never see the light of day. Now I think the elections are way too impt for Halli. Halli has to keep enuf people out and get enuf in to maintain. Halliburton reminds me of the USSR, in control of everything, with arms and eyes everywhere. - thesetimesarescary
