I couldn't agree with ragin more. I was wondering aloud the other day, why is a college education so big of a budget drain when, in theory, tuition is supposed to cover the costs of the college education. And I say this knowing my own children will be heading that route soon.

I'd like to know what percentage of Louisiana college budgets are covered by tuition.

All the best,

Soop - Soop.

Thank you MR. EDIT, for still allowing the truth, terrible as it may usually seem to all the yahoos who know what is happening in Lafayette but, but who believe its not kosher to bitch, and yell foul, but if you can't or won't call it like it is, then why comment on an article, and why sugar coat it, just to be in the mix. They must be spicing the water, the natives are stooping and bending more, and sauntering around like Zombies. - NORTHSIDIAN SHOTGUN

Lets blow $ 50,000,000.00 on a vo-tech school and teach a student how to dab a welding rod, or how to change a radiator, we already have vo-techs in the local Fire Depts, The Police Station, the Offshore Drilling Rigs.
Lets increase Tuition by 100 % and lets give the little village state representives and the little midge-minded congressman "TEN SCHOLARSIPS FOR THEIR CHILDREN TO OBTAIN A FREE TAXPAYER EDUCATION.......

I think that college tuition in this state should be drastically increased. Ole Miss and Miss. State tuition is 25% higher than UL Lafayette. U of Alabama is more than 50% higher than UL Lafayette. Univ. of Houston is almost double.

And my wife would like to point out that many students go to college for free on the TOPS program regardless of need.

Perhaps we should ask students to foot more, or all, of the bill for their college education since they will reap the rewards of it.
