With all of the talk going on about deconsolidation and annexation I have to ask, how much unincorporated land is actually left in this Parish I mean really?? You have the Milton are which is prob. the most populated of the unincorporated. I was told about 6 months ago from an LCG official that if Milton were incorporated as a town and include the southern and northern bounduries it would dwarf Maurice, Duson, Sunset, and many more incorporated towns in Acadiana. So why is it that there hasnt been a push for anypne to annex it? I mean you figure you have two state highways which intersect in Milton with E. Milton Ave(LA92) and E. Broussard(LA 733) then you have the Vermilion River which basically is the community... this community is bordered by both Lafayette and Youngsville. that would pretty much take care of the southern part of the parish which is unincorporated, then you look north where the largest unincorporated areas border scott and carencro... so again I ask, why not just incorporate the entire parish and be done with it. I mean just incorporating Milton and surrounding area would take care of the large chunk of the problem. I think its rediculous that this rinky dink operation of a Water "System" in Milton basically bleeds half of unincorporated Lafayette Parish, you would think someone would want to cash in, Joey? Wilson? anyone? - Jamie Bordelon Sr
