Shouldn't a school that's intended to serve the whole parish be somewhat located in the center of the parish. The kmart site was perfect for this and would have attracted a diverse group of students from all over the parish.

But I suspect that since this school was perceived to a predominatly black school by the folks who were against the kmart site, they pushed the lame duck school board into a sneaky mid-night vote and stuck this school on the north side where it most certainly will become another racially identifiable high school in the parish.

People are kidding themselves if they think race was not a factor in all of this. It would be easy to see if they were honest with themselves

That's like when the Bush Administration claimed "they had proof that Saddam Hussein was ready to build a nuclear weapon and that if we didn't go to war right away he would use it on us. Then used that false justification to take our American soldiers to war.

Oh... wait... no it's nothing like that at all.

Oh and you forgot this part of the story:
"There was no intent to mislead the public," said Kendra Barkoff, an Interior Department spokeswoman. "As the report makes clear, the misunderstanding with the reviewers was resolved with the June 3 letter and a subsequent conference call with those experts." - Re Couillon
