If giving the money to the wealthy is your and Jindal's idea of not raising taxes, then you must be in favor of having royalty as head of state and government instead of a president. - LAFAYETTE NATIVE RESIDING IN CALIFORNIA

" the problem is greed"

Go earn your own money, pay for your own services, and get your hand outta my pocket. Looter.

I do earn my own money, but the investment banks and other financial institutions steal it from me because they are not regulated. They steal my money and loot the federal treasury.

I agree. The problem is greedy leeches like you trying to raise taxes on honest hardworking citizens. Go earn your own money, pay for your own services, and get your hand outta my pocket. Looter. - ragin_cajun

Why does the government have to always be the solution to every problem?

Duh huh, government is the soloution to the problem. What your problem is that you don't understand the problem.

Listen here sonny, the problem is greed. Only government, through regulation and careful oversight can hold us rich guys accountable. Only government can insure your food is relatively safe. Only government can insure that your car don't blowup when you start it. Only government can make sure that when you go to the doctor that you can be sure he/she is really a doctor. Only government can make sure that pfizer (you know, those good old rich capatialist)is not putting poison on the market. I could go on forever.

If you want to put your faith in the "ultimate goodness of man", good luck. - SENSIBLE POLITICS

SENSIBLE POLITICS --

If you want to pay more, then go right ahead. Pay whatever rate you feel like you should. Nobody's stopping you, and the treasury won't send your money back to you.

But what right do you have to force your neighbors to pay more? Just because YOU think they should.

Why don't you just save the money from your "Bush tax giveaway" and start a business with it? Why does the government have to always be the solution to every problem? - ragin_cajun

If you call letting the Bush tax giveaway to the rich expire-if you call that raising taxes, then lets raise taxes. I fall into that group of over 250K per year. In fact, my income is greater than 350k, and my wife has income of 290k.

I don't think we should give me a bonus tax break, especially with the economy that Bush left us.

As a result of Obama's pending comprimise on Bushs'tax giveaway, I am absolutely not voting for him again, unless, and only if sister sarah wins the nomination. If David Duke or David Vitter or Mitch Mconell or John Boehner runs against Obama, I'd vote for them. - SENSIBLE POLITICS

SENSIBLE POLITICS --

In the course of human history, when peasents grab pitchforks, they don't discriminate between politicians--they go after ALL the politicians. Or kings. Or generalisimos. And they have almost always taken to the streets when taxes got too high.....

So applying that to the fantasy-land in your head, I don't think that they would take pitchforks to talk show hosts and spare the bleeding-heart liberals that you're so fond of.

I heard Mitch Landrieu is raising taxes in New Orleans :) Hurricane Mary is ripping Republicans in Washington last week on the floor of the Senate for opposing federal tax increases. But, all the people YOU rail against want to CUT taxes.....hmmm...... - ragin_cajun

This article's about Governor Jindal--of LOUISIANA! He has nothing to do with federal tax policy, Arizona's "state medicade", or right-wing talk radio.

This is about the politics of the day. This is about the stupidity of the politcos gone mad. Jindal, Brewer, Mcconnel, aka Freddy Krueger, sister sarah, limbaugh, hannity, your holiness beck, michelle malkin, and the rest of these clowns.

I know you're embarrassed that Jindal is part of that crazy crew, and everything he says and does is part of that Obama derangement syndrome. These clown are going to answer to the people.

I see you don't like to be reminded of Jan Brewer's death panel, huh.

Just for the record, there is a blonde 24 yo white girl who needs a lung transplant, a 34 yo white boy who need a heart transplant, and a 29 yo hispanic who needs a liver transplant. Jan Brewer's death panel denied them all.

The craziness, the nuttiness of all this is that you guys fooled the public claiming Obama's reform has death panels and all the while it is you, the right wing nuts who subjects people to death panels-Jindal is among those nutbags too.

When the peasants wrap their heads around this con game, they will grab their pitchfork and torches and run these clown out of office and perhaps even the country. - SENSIBLE POLITICS

"I thought you were talking about the real John Kennedy." Unbelievable!!! You could have lied and said and you left the smiley face off the end of your joke. You could have crafted some really great 3 paragraph rant about JFK and how he was the soul of left/liberal thought in America, then tied it into Louisiana some kind of way. YOU COULD HAVE JUST NOT REPLIED!!! But NO, you reply, and restate what I already know -- that you thought I was talking about JFK. That's funny. That's HILARIOUS! My WIEF'S over there on the next couch laughing at you, too!!! :)

And then, you launch into some tired-ass tirade about federal taxes, call somebody some racists, some Obama fluff, Jan Brewer, talk show hosts, blah, blah, blah....what are you TALKING about?

This article's about Governor Jindal--of LOUISIANA! He has nothing to do with federal tax policy, Arizona's "state medicade", or right-wing talk radio. This article, and most everybody's comments, are about State politics. Stop rambling!

I thought you were talking about the real John Kennedy. Look, as far as taxes go, I agree with extending the tax cut up to 250k. That business about giving the rich another tax benefit is rubbish.

Jindal and the rest of these imbecils are going to answer to the electorate once the electorate (white racists)get over their tif about Obama being some kind of illegitimate president.

Its coming, just watch.

Jane Brewer, governor of Az is one glaring example. Her death panel is on the verge of claiming 3 people lives because she says that her state medicade can not pay for their transplant. RUBBISH!

When the peasants finally come to their senses, they will grab their pitchfork and torches and run imbecils like Jindal, sister sarah, hannity, limbaugh, revern beck, hailey barbour, mitch mcconell, aka freddy kruegar. - SENSIBLE POLITICS

" As for JFK, he had some good ideas. I was 5 when he died"

DAMN! Go read some newspapers! Not JFK! John Kennedy--our State Treasurer who has been screaming to everyone who will listen how to balance the budget and what to cut.

" I would spend more time in the State than out of the State." Yeah, I agree with you there. But, I look at Jindal, and I compare him to Foster, Blanco, some other state contenders, and I don't think I'd vote for anybody else over him--except maybe for John Kennedy.

Jindal is refusing to raise taxes. For that, he deserves our respect and admiration. If he can now shepherd the legislature into drastically cutting some spending, laying off some state workers, he'd be a great governor.

Jindal did grudgingly accept federal stimulus dollars but it did not stop him from running around louisiana issuing out checks claiming credit for.

It is not true that levees and highways need no more attention. Johnson street from evangeline thruway to acadiana mall could be widen as well as university at I10 to evangeline thruway. Evangeline thruway from I10 to pinhook road could be expanded to 4 lanes as well. And thats just in Lafayette.

Multiply these infrastructer repairs throughout the state and thousands of jobs appear.

Stimulus dollars could help Louisiana lead the way in renewable energy research and development. As a graduate of USL, I recommend we start there with R&D.

I would like to see Mitch Landrieu, or John Breaux as governor. As for JFK, he had some good ideas. I was 5 when he died so I don't know if I'd vote for him today. I would have voted for Teddy though.

Jindal is a fraud just as sister sarah, limbaugh, beck, and the rest of these nutty anti american crackpot millionaires. - SENSIBLE POLITICS

I think NO levees and Lafayette highways have all seen SUBSTANTIAL investment of tax dollars federal and otherwise. I think Jindal did grudgingly accept federal stimulus dollars and spread it all over the state. So Jindal's done what you would do already.

Any other good ideas for the governor? Any suitable candidates to take his place? How would you feel about John Kennedy? - ragin_cajun

If I were governor, I would take every stimulus from Obama and repair Louisiana's infrastructre. From the levees in NO to the highways in Lafayette, to the port of Lake Charles, and all points north.

And thats just the begining. - SENSIBLE POLITICS
