Walter tell us what the government is releasing in the sky over our heads . Could it be a Vatican-Obama co-op venture, a new and improved birth control gas which when breathed by humans, it will cause the females to begin dropping triplets in six weeks, which will guarantee the future of the world Catholic and Muslim population, due to the genes in the gas. - Eddie

Ga 17,000,000 cubic yards of sand dredged from the Mississippi River. The Mississippi River is now classified as the deepest river on the planet earth, and the sole benefactor is Jindal's Couzan, the sand pump supplier.
Anyone who knows anything about well production can tell you that the 2,000,000 bbl estimate is but a bucket full, in relation to the vast amount of oil that escaped from BP'S well. - NORTHSIDIAN SHOTGUN

Hard to blame Jindal for trying to do something rather than sitting back, fretting, but never doing anything in particular. The idea behind creating a quick barrier between the gulf oil and the marsh still seems like a sensible idea to me especially on short notice and when everything else "experts" were doing to stop the flow of oil wasn't working.

All the best,

This looks a lot like the Gambit article that ran a couple of weeks ago - and has the same fault of bending over backwards to provide cover for a politically motivated fiasco. The wording is all for Jindal - the oil spill commission report does not "suggest" that little oil was captured. The Governor's Office touted the number of 1000 barrels itself - 1000 out of 5 million spilled, for $220 million. That $220 million completed only 12.7 miles in 5 months (the Governor's Office numbers again) out of over 100 that Jindal was demanding permission to build. If the remaining BP dollars are applied to real restoration, that's for the good. But the idea that a sand wall could be built in time to hold back a spill this size for a coast this size was always magical thinking. But most of La's media promoted it - now you can add yourself to the list. - Fiume
