YOU THE MAN, how dare you accuse me of being an unchivarylious cad who would stoop to engage in an argument with MENTALLY DEFICIENT, unarmed couillions. It takes two and sometimes three couillions, to have an argument, CIAO ! - EDDIE

Joey, has become a true prodigy of the Greenmanzooschlag, he has been so pumped up by zooschlag that he now believes he is a 14 kt. electro-gold-plated elite nouveau riche himself, If he had any foresight he would see that when the gold bricks dry up, he'll be like Authement and Lastrapes, " A Could Have Been Contendah, that did'nt answer the bell and threw the fight.
R C...
I think anyone is allowed to go to KPEL. I think even you can go there
Turned out it was just a political commercial for Theriot. Walter Cambell, his competition, should demand equal time.

Well, Should Be Fun evidently knew something most of us didn't ahead of time. Mayor Durel did in fact show up at the KPEL building yesterday morning. He popped his head into the studio to say he would "allow" Theriot to have his say, but that he would be hanging around in case anyone needed him.

How nice of him to "allow" Councilman Theriot to be on the radio for 10 minutes. - RCajunrunner

NS, your point is very good. Why don't you do the research and see how much work has been done in each district to show the disparities? I for one would like to know the truth and I suspect some of the crying councilmen are not the best source for the truth. If it is true, those councilment that feel like they have been punished would have the information to use. If it turns out to be untrue, we would know it was just weak councilmen trying to find something to hang their hat on. What do you think? Want to get tomthe truth? Let Not depend on a couple of stories in the paper to depend on for the facts. Thanks for doing the research in advance, I know you are interested in the truth as we all should be. - Wingnut here

JOEY has outgrown his britches, his silly putty gonads have responded to the high humidity and swelled.
Hopefully all the voters in the districts he has screwed
in his punishment of select councilman, will come back to haunt the couillion in the next election, when he tries to hold on to the pie, for himself and the GreenManZoolasgh. - NORTHSIDIAN SHOTGUN

Durel never mentioned Theriot. It was just obvious he was taking about an ineffective councilman, so it had to be either Theriot, Bellard or their buddy Shelvin. - In fact

Maybe a story should be done on projects that have been pulled in "retaliation" by Durel. Everything I have heard is that this would be quite a stretch. I can see why Theriot, Bellard and Shelvin might want to blame their lack of effectiveness on the administration, but if you look at how much money is spent in the various districts, my guess is that this argument would fall somewhat flat. Does being a "no" man somehow benefit the people more that being a "yes" man after actually researching an issue? - Hamburger helper

Walter: Point taken.

Cadillac Cowgirl: Ask Mr. Patin why he initially gave his word to Theriot that he would vote FOR the ordinance to phase out government subsidizing of Non-Governmental Organizations, only to leave him hanging dry when the rubber met the road for the official vote. Ask him about other times he has promised Theriot to stand with him on an issue, only to flip-flop last minute.

Two observations/questions here:

1) Walter, you make a point, as someone else noted, that Mayor-President Durel has retalliated against Theriot and Bellard by vetoing projects in their districts. The question needs to be asked and answered, are Theriot and Bellard voting with the majority of their constituents in their district? If so, then it appears to me that Durel is vetoing projects for REAL government responsibilities (drainage/flood control, infrastructure) in those districts simply because those taxpayers do not like being FORCED by government to subsidize projects and operations that are NOT responsibilites of government, ie. non-profit arts councils.

2) Anyone wondering about the deal supposedly brokered by Bertrand and Shelvin? Why was Brandon Shelvin so mad after the meeting and had a closed door conversation in Bertrand's office? I have a few "sources" as well, which point to a deal that Bertrand would support Shelvin being V-Chair in exchange for Boudreaux and Shelvin supporting Bertrand for Chair of the Lafayette Public Utilities commission/committee. I don't blame other councilmen for not wanting to vote for Shelvin as Vice Chair given his apparent legal/ethical issues. But did a couple of them originally promise to support him for V-Chair in exchange for an agreement on the Lafayette Utilities committee? - RCajunrunner

A pox on all their houses. While they're busy with "payback" who's looking out for the taxpayers? At some point, Bellard will have to answer for shenanigans like this and his self-serving rabble rousing against a development that met all the planning and zoning requirements, hence the proper vote by the council to approve it. And it was a good thing for Patin to be the gentleman and vote for Bellard. Let's hope we see more instances of similar adult behavior from all the council this year. - Ophelia46
