Ask Granger about the only business in Vermilion Parish that is allowed to run without a permit from the Police Jury, Ask Granger about the help he denied the homeowners that went to him and his cohorts to try and get this business to obey the rules. He is not an honorable man. Beware. - Truth

I Hate Mudslinging:

As much as the IND advocates subsidizing the good and services of arts groups and other non-profits, they certainly would not be fans of Rep. Perry's voting record.

Three years ago, Rep. Perry supported an amendment to take appropriations to Non-Governmental Organizations out of the State Operating Budget. Considering how much they seem to hate William Theriot within the IND building for taking such stances on the Lafayette Parish Council, no doubt they would also want to tar and feather Rep. Perry for believing that state government should first fully fund the real responsibilities of state government. - RCajunrunner

Most elected officials have to run from their voting record. Rep. Perry's record is one he can promote and be proud of. Perry even opposed the Governor, from his own party, and voted NO on an irresponsible operating budget last year.

Normally, I would be all for voting against an incumbent state legislature. But Jonathan Perrys record of no new taxes, fiscal responsibility and trying to support reforms to government and Higher Education is one that we desperately need in the State Senate. - RCajunrunner

If I were Mr. Granger, I would not want to bring up anything with the Police Jury...seeing as in 2008 he voted to increase property taxes in the parish. How is he going to vote against taxes on a state level when he voted for them on a parish level? - verite absolue

You can always tell desperation in the person running behind. Instead of talking about anything he has done as a Police Juror , he spends all of his time talking bad about his opponent. I bet in 3 months The Independant is plastered with Ads from Grangers oilfield company. Seems the first part of the article is Pro Granger and the second half is just info on Perry, like I said desperation. - I Hate Mud Slinging

Nathan Granger is going to win hands down. He is well respected, very intelligent with a down-to-earth mentality, great family man, is community/civic-minded and very generous to the place he calls home. He is a self-made man and isn't controlled by anyone. He will represent his constituents not self-interest groups or individuals. - Granger is a winner
