Unemperical Obsv, I spent a few years in San Franscisco and in reading the various state's newspapers, I learned about the high rate of children being adopted by same sex partners, the majority of the populace of San Franscisco, is young Gay couples and they are experiencing the " Lets start a family, before we get too old.
The hearsay which you hear is the voices in that hollowed head of yours. If you'd travel to San Franscisco you would witness this for yourself and you could actually begin to quote true facts rather than hearsay which you hear, on the streets . - Northsidian Shotgun

Thanks, Observer. I had plugged in HB 60 for this past session on the website, and it was a CHL bill that came up.

Now that we've got this carrified, I would say that judging by Granger's website and what I've heard on the public airwaves, he likely would have voted FOR HB 60.

From his website: "As a state senator, I will never waiver in my dedication to my family, my faith, and my community. I will always vote to protect traditional family values and I will always vote pro-life. To me these are not political issues; they are a way of life."

HB 60 was going to put up obstacles to gay and lesbian couples adopting children.
Bills like that are nothing but cynical wedge issue division tactics to scare voters into making use of their prejudices to remember to vote for the bill's proponent.

We don't need B***s*** tactics like this in our governing process. Rep. Perry should go sit down and be quiet.

Incidentally, the hearsay that I hear is that the region with the highest number of children being reared in households led by gay and lesbian couples, are in the South.
Why?
Probably because less tolerance leads those individuals to first marry into hetero relationships, produce children and then later divorce before the kids are adults. Thereby taking their parental custody into a relationship with their partners.

I don't think this has made the South any more fragile a culture than any other region in terms of preserving traditional values. Probably just enhances those values since Southerners may be more likely to be married at younger ages and making babies than city folk in other regions.

But these are unempirical generalizations. - Unempirical Observer

I wish somebody would have the balls to say. We need to cut higher ed. These tenured educator's are paid too much ! The state should turn over college's and universities to the private sector ! - Plumpy

Anyone even remotely considering a vote for Perry needs to look into HB 60, and watch this video.

Wrong, Mr. Perry - we don't elect men to "wear their religion on their sleeves" - Christian or Jew doesn't matter...electing "family values" in th past decade or so hasn't exactly worked very well, has it?

I'm with Nathan Granger on this one - he wisely knows what to focus on - and it ain't preaching to us about his faith... - Charles in Charge
