The mix is getting thick, we don't need to add more, we need to break down the viscosity, and separate the heavys from the lights, I learned this in Drilling Engineer 101........ - Dr.Northsidian Shotgun

"… I will ask them not to put local government in the same category or sentence as the federal government."
Federal level people have TAXATION WITH EQUAL REPRESENTATION. At the local level there still is no equality of City representation.
Federal level One Person equals One Vote. Local level, One persons vote can be counted at least twice for two separate jurisdictions.
Federal Level 100% of the Registered voters are represented in a Public Utility Authority. Locally you have less than 100%.
Federal Level the same people are elected under the U.S. Constitution were the only ones eligible to write that same Constitution. Locally not all registered voters are eligible to re-write their Constitutional Charter.
Federal Level people living outside the jurisdiction of the U.S. Constitution were never eligible to write it. Locally, non-City of Lafayette residents are writing their City Charter.
I AGREE. We have fewer rights locally than our Federal Constitution requires.

When LCG, the City Council, and this Administration, quit acting like politicians in Washington act, then I'm sure Walter's "gainsayers" will quit saying mean things about them. Joey Durel has got to be the most thin skinned politician I've ever seen. - ragin_cajun

"This is the eighth annual State of the Parish event..." When will the Citizen taxpayers of the separate City of Lafayette taxing authority have a "State of the City of Lafayette Address"?
