to Walter, " But the shrimp Quesadillas are muy bueno, aha this proves my constitention is on the money. Walter, I have always suspected your taste is all in your mouth . Tut Tut, you and Walter need to change your reporting venues, Walter, may be more aptly suited to reflect on the gourmet trail, and you may be better suited to report on the serious issues of the day in these parts, uh huh, I believe this will work out better for you both, good luck, or as Kojac would say, Ciao Baby . - Dr.Northsidian Shotgun

Lafayette has no city center, only a downtown area. Office space is scattered around the parish, not centralised. Urban living areas need green space for residents to breathe and run. Lafayette does not offer that. If you want to redesign the city, start with the landowners and work from the inside out. The sooner the better because the shift is people moving from rural to urban areas. Young people want to feel a part of something, and safe rather than live out in the suburbs and have their square lot of yard to mow. Young people want to live in a city where there are things to do, not live in a house in the suburbs where all there is to do is surf the net or watch TV. Lafayette needs to kill the good old boy landowner system and get on some serious zoning and tax issues. You want to put office space out of this radius from teh city center? Well you're in a higher tax bracket because it costs more to get infrastructure to you. - Chamrox

Some of the people cited in this article seem to operate under the unspoken assumption that all growth is good. Is it? I don't think so. - Martinz
