After watching for about 10 minutes, I couldn't take it any longer. Don Bacque has to be the most combative person i have seen in a long time. It seems so simple, as presented by Mr. Kellogg that the city needs a seperate council, along with a parish council. All the arguing and grandstanding has got to go. - Southsider

There is a basic flaw with the Hefner Plan. While some problems may be corrected temporarily with redistricting, small town and rural growth will continue to erode the population percentage of the City and we will find ourselves faced with the same dilema in years to come.

We need our own mayor and council in Lafayette to act on our best interests and to determine our fate.

We don't need a councilperson from Duson voting on a City of Lafayette bond issue.

Lafayette residents need to have the same rights and privileges as do the residents of Scott, Broussard, Youngsville, Carencro and Duson — specifically, to elect our own officials and to determine the fate of our own community without those decisions being influenced by people who do not live in our city. - MW Stagg
