Most LSU fans aren't aggressive like that. The experiment that those girls did was stupid. They donned the colors of one of LSU's biggest rivals. What do you expect to happen? It's a hate filled rivalry. Bama fans treat Tiger fans the same way when they travel to Tuscaloosa. Tiger fans usually are very hospitable, generous to opposing team fans, and have a spirit within them unlike anything seen anywhere else. LSU football is something that is deeply rooted into Louisiana's culture. Besides, it's a Saturday night in Death Valley. Worship happens here. Here, we crush the dreams of opposing foes. Of course those people were treated to a little game day hostility, they were dressed as BAMA fans for pete's sake! Had they donned purple and gold, they would have been welcomed like family. I have spend many good quality hours among fans with excellent sportsmanship and hospitality. Ask the guys at College Game Day if they enjoy covering LSU games, they love it. GQ wrote the article and The Independent just picked it up for local interest. The reference to 2005 is only to mention an incident then. The GQ article is current. I do beleive that most of the LSU-UL animosity is caused by the fans, which is what is being reported.
