Nothing negative about it, Walter. That is my viewpoint. Isn't my viewpoint "equally as valid" as anyone else's? Why do you have to always make a value judgement about my experiences--my "reality"--like that? Why can't you just accept it for what it is, and perhaps try to see it from my side. I think that would be a more enlightened response from you.

Try to relax, man. And try to be more open to the diversity of ideas and values of those around you...:) - ragin_cajun

Um, yeah. Thanks for another dose of your low-grade negativity, ragin. The commission has a very limited window -- by law -- to conduct its work. If it receives no satisfactory answers from the AG before the window closes, well, tough titty huh? - Walter Pierce

The State AG's office is making a lot of sense. But, what they fail to understand is this. There is a very impatient "creative class" in Lafayette that wants what they want -- AND RIGHT NOW! They want deconsolidation, they want it to happen in an impossibly short time frame, and they don't want ANYBODY to think about it too much. If they don't get what they want, they will scream and yell and hurl insults and personal attacks regardless of what the facts are.

So, the best thing the AG's office can do is to just give whatever answer this loud minority wants to hear. A studied legal opinion is not required. If they insist on taking time to think about it, the AG's office will be attacked in print like every one else who is deemed to be an "opponent of progress", or doesn't "get it". - ragin_cajun
