This sounds like a fabulous place and we may actully dine there soon. However there were some good points made by dodger and s___w dat. Who exactly is the downtown patron these days anyhow? We struggle with an identity crisis here, a lack of willingness to collaborate b/c there is such a small piece of the pie to divide so that everyone prospers. We have a small town territorial nature that impedes progress much of the time. Onward. - Betty Black

Screw that-
The problem IS the Downtown Development Authority which is an atrophied taxing body accountable to noone whose Executive Director is attached to the organization tighter than a barnicle. - dodger

Great article it remains to be seen if the concept will work.As I venture into the Downtown area as of late I cant help but notice more and more establishments seem to be going under and one of his recent restraunts Collage Caffe is no exception it lasted all of about 6 months after several years in the making.Downtown Developement needs to figure out where the problems seem to be before expecting individuals to open new establishments in the area.It seems Downtown has lots its appeal as of late and it will take more than TRYND to bring it back to life.Best of luck to him and his concept. - SCREW DAT

TrYnd is amazing! There isn't another place like it anywhere near here. You can dine on the balcony, patio or indoors at the Martini Bar or the Main Restaurant. My favorite Martini is the Lemon Blueberry and my favorite dish is the nocchi, mmmmm i think i might have to go tonight :-) - Aerielle Benoit

I was at the Grand Opening. The event was an amazing experience, unlike anything I've ever been to in Lafayette. My husband and I have since gone back for dinner. The food is unbelievable. Lafayette needed this. Nidal is gracious and humble and every good thing that comes his way is well deserved. Great article that captures the essence of Lafayette's newest jewel and the man behind it. - N Howard

Nidal, keep being the man who works harder than anyone and you won't--you CAN'T--fail. Onward and upward, my man. You have raised the bar for both the bar and the restaurant business.
In the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Rita, you saw me in a long line at Albertson's waiting to get bagged ice. You approached me and asked me to follow you to your restaurant (on Pinhook). I followed you--and several other people caravaned behind me. Once there, as rain poured in through your storm-ravaged roof, you personally bagged ice for all of us.
You deserve every success you get out of Trynd--and ANY endeavor you ever undertake! - B Chermeat
