In more simplified commentsation you are a great proponent of career proteges on the cuff, especially of this Blanco's protege, eh. take the proscenium Maecenas, the curtain is drawn. - NORTHSIDIAN SHOTGUN

I thought I had posted a comment here before about my enthusiastic support for Jerry. Now knowing that he is 'independent' makes me want him more. I do not subscribe to the vulgar sentiment that one who represents "business interest" makes for a good political statesman.

In fact, if you think about it, there ought to be polarity, or, at least, antagonism between business and political taxing structures. The purpose of business is cash! More easily achieved by exploitation of common laborers, monopoly (and, especially, its more sinister form, oligopsony [which is what we have now on Wall Street enabled by lobbyists-policiticians]), and the ever restriction of wealth at the top of society [achieved easily by information technology, not merit of labor]!

The common citizens do not even stand a chance. The game is rigged against them. Presently, due to their ignorance of computer programming, financialization of society and absolute stupidity about higher mathematics---they lack common insight as to why their plight is induced. This crime and vice of business requires enlightened legislators!

Why I am for Monsier LeBlanc! - Gaius Cilnius Maecenas

Although I do not vote in that district I am familiar with the fact that Jerry Luke Leblanc was the first real proponent of performance based management of the State's finances when he was commissioner of adminstration and a great number of the ideas about how to better manage state assets and employees came about on his watch. Efficiency in government is not just a party issue, its a people issue. Especially when money is tight. - crawdaddy

There is no denying that Jerry Luke is a good man who was a good legislator who did many positive things for Lafayette. The down side is that he is in deep with former governor, Kathleen Blanco, Raymond "The Drunk" Blanco, and Chris "The Thief" Williams. That relationship alone, and what would take place behind the scenes, is not good for Lafayette and its people. Were Jerry Luke to register as a Republican, it would be purely for cosmetic reasons and not to be trusted. I like Jerry, but this is a race he won't win. Page is a good man and a good honest legislator. He has my support for the reasons I've mentioned. - And now,

Local Businessman,

Closed-minded voters, like yourself, on both sides of the political spectrum are what's wrong with the United States. - Local Political Observer Businessman

The last thing Acadiana needs is to step back in time with someone that has been on the government payroll for decades like Leblanc . Page is a small business owner who consistently supports business issues and smaller government. Lafayette and Acadiana finally have strong representation in Baton Rouge with Michot, Cortez, Landry and Robideaux...we need to continue moving forward! Geaux Page! - Einstein

It is truly amazing thing that so many people in Lafayette, Louisiana are supposedly unwilling to consider a candidate if he is a Democrat. - POLITICAL OBSERVER

Republocrat,
We've been told that LeBlanc dropped his party affiliation when he was Blanco's commissioner of administration and is now independent, but we have not confirmed it yet. Stay tuned. - Walter Pierce

I think Jerry Leblanc would be great for the Senate! He certainly has the experience needed to get the job done. He is one of the few poilicians out there that has a clean record. He is truly a an honest man. Go Jerry! - Keith French

The article fails to mention that Michot is also a Republican and that LeBlanc is a Democrat who served in the House for 13 or 14 years before going to work for Kathleen Blanco. - Republocrat
