KUDOS! Maybe investigative reporting is coming back?

And that comes despite a provision in its contract with the city that says CH2MHILL will comply with the state’s open-meetings and public-records laws.

Shouldn't such a provision be in our city contracts? Every HUD award? etc? Keep up the work with the LHA !!!! - urbane

Keep Gachassin & his secret partners in the hot seat. While you're at it dig real deep into these "school clinics" and let me know who are the doctors on the public dole. I just read about one "expanding". Well these are not you Dr. Romagosa mds, volounteering their time. Some genius figured out how to collect hundreds of thousands of dollars outta the "medical card" system and doctors and dentists now go to the school. Look, this city has buses & people can get their kids to health care. DO NOT TELL ME ITS A MATTER OF NEED, liars. ITS A MATTER OF GREED, and I'd love, love, love to see The Ind start exposing who those greedy bastards are. Don't just give me the hospitals either, give me names of doctors who collect wages. - Morrow

Thanks for all the background on the government privatization piece in this article which was otherwise about your own awards. I'd say this merits a separate story of its own.

This is definitely an issue we are going to have to be on watch for with the current political ideology in charge. I would not be surprised to see our sitting governor propose similar "solutions" as the Michigan governor has done to take over all cities in his state by decree and appoint private unelected administrators to run cities and town and this will likely bring great secrecy to the civic process. Just think, we're not even the prisoners being privatized....or are we? - Unempirical Observer

someone has finally figured out how to keep the public from the news. Is the mayor named Castro? Is Central City in Cuba? China? I would be so concerned to know city govt is trying to be a dictatorship & print up propoganda as to why its good to hide from the voters. May freedom of the press endure! - BoFred
