They also gave us a big up story on Rickey...almost like he could walk on water. Let's see if Hud can translate his enthusiasm to the players, coaches, student body and faculty. We'll soon find out. - tryin' to love ULL sports

Great article. I'm surprised by the lack of comments. I guess it's all the years UL fans have been beaten down by mediocrity. Both Hudspeth and Marlin are what I call flat-bellies. Both are in shape and have some intensity. It's a welcome sight. I'm ready for the fall semester to start. - yesidoknow

^^Over half of Coach Hud's salary ($185k of it) comes from the RCAF which DOES NOT include tax dollars. This is a trend UL has finally decided to follow noting the success of such fundraising giants like LSU's TAF and pretty much any other major college athletic program that can't totally rely on the state to keep its budget operational or competitive. In general the monies the state does contribute to athletic programs (coaches wages, etc.) work as an investment in one of the rarest things found on a college campus: a MONEYMAKER. - Madatem

------------------------

No wonder governments everywhere have money problems. Sports are a waste of wealth. While the Chinese invest in infrastructure and technology, making money hand over fist, the USA goes to the ball game. China deserves to take the lead. - William Morvant
