Back in a time when there was no income tax at all. Didn't know this fact? No, they don't teach that in our public schools. But there was such a time, when government intrusion into every facet of life was at a minimum. Americans need to understand that it isn't how much taxes we are paying, it is why we are paying a tax on our income at all. Taxing the income a person makes due to his/her labor is immoral, in the same way subjugating another human being to forced labor is slavery. True, you are not forced to do any work, but if you do, you must pay, through threat of force and/or imprisonment. More taxes is not the answer.
