I have an idea, "Why'nt the city buy the bldg. You get it, like have a city administrator's wife get a real estate license from Sears, and pocket the commission from the sale, the Parish could join the city and develope a site such as Golly-World, and name it COUllION-WORLD, this would be a great progressional move for "ALL, TERM-LIMIT POLITICIANS IN LAFAYETTE PARISH. You know who I'm talkin bout. - NORTHSIDIAN SHOTGUN

There you go "S GOMEZ, trying to promote the purchase of the Winn-Dixie bldg. Would it be a crony-ownership of the Winn-Dixie bldg., hah it would have to be, after being pushed by the parish administrator-powers that be, as the new dummy-ed. school. - NORTHSIDIAN SHOTGUN

I'm so excited about Whole Foods. Finally!!!! Just wish it would have been in the old Winn-Dixie on Ambassador. Think that would have worked better, at least for me! - S Gomez

I agree Soupy, why would anyone want to setup shop on that site, GA. Well that location has been bandied about with every new offer , it must be that "THE OWNERS have an, A LA BOWEN REAL ESTATE PROFIT share system with some Parish Administrators, its funny, no its outright thievin when every "t and some i's are dotted, yet never the name of the individual, or individuals fail to appear any where in the media until the transaction is fini and the cigars smoked.
How odd . - NORTHSIDIAN SHOTGUN

I agree with other posters about the location. I avoid that area like the plague. With the City shifting further south, why anyone would build north of Johnston street or even north of the river is a mystery to me.

All the best,

I would rather have my veins pumped full of trans fats than drive to Whole Foods at the corner of Ambassador and Ridge. I can only imagine how bad traffic will be.

This is a great addition to the City, no doubt. I just wish it wouldn't be plopped down in the middle of the worst traffic area in Lafayette. Maybe Tony Trammel has plans for a five lane roundabout to help traffic flow? - stu

Hey, could someone go to the Heymann Performing Arts Ctr. @ about 6 PM or just before the dance review starts (there are several of them, every weekend till school is out)and take a photo of the salvage yard that's developing out there. The grass needs to be cut & shrubs trimmed. Its an embarassment to Laf. & its a darned shame for people & families attending. Its a shame that for @ least $90 a dancer & $10 a ticket, patrons have limited parking near the building (due to renting out spaces to General Hospital). Now multiply that 90 bucks times every dancer in and around Lafayette parish. If you do park across the street, the storage of the machinery makes for a very dangerous situation. There is no outside security, so last night when we went to our car it was dark (limited lighting) and there were some shady characters in the parking lot (having nothing to do with the dance review). That DUMP they're passing off as the Heymann Performing Arts Center is a liabilty because if someone isn't attacked, they're going to have a terrible accident just trying to negotiate getting to the building. - Mariah

Thank you, thank you, thank you LCG, LEDA, the real estate agent, the developer and anyone else who had anything to do with bringing these two stores to Lafayette!!! These chains can be very picky about where they choose to locate so all of you must have done something right! Yay Lafayette!! - Grateful citizen

Not interested in Whole Foods. Too many of the same type of grocers, LOCAL, I might add. I hate to see Adrien's go under. I am thrilled with Burlington however. I've shopped there before and I look forward to the good deals on quality merch. Competition is good! - BoFred

Time to connect South Domingue Avenue from Ridge to Johnston Street passing behind this site to relieve some traffic on Ambassador, at least for a while. Ironic that I mentioned this parking lot in a comment earlier today. Go figure. - Jason D. Faulk

few realize the importance of Whole Foods...Fresh Market is nice, but those who are on a journey for a whole life, need more than the few products that Fresh offers...its time southwest louisiana, starting with Laffy Yett, to get with the program...Wal Mart does carry some prouducts, as well as Albersons that Whole will provide...I am not that enthusticate about the corporate structure of Whole, but it should generate some new thought about the hub city...I miss Trader Joes, offering some similar products as Whole, under their own private label, as they do not advertise, other than radio announcements, adding to the availability to lower costs on many items...

This area has been lacking...Its slow to develope its intellectual protential, for it has been so programmed to such negative thought...THOSE HEALTHY FOOD EATERS...I am dealing with the ignorance embedded within my own blood family, with a mother a diabetic, and two sisters bloated from poison of foods shoveled down their gullets...and have many problems associated with sick diets...WAKE UP...Its okay to be healthy...one does not go to hell for being healthy...brake the cycle of ignorance...(facebook)...rb - roscoe beauregard

This is such great news for the Lafayette community! Hopefully this will encourage other large market companies like PF Changs and Panera Bread to consider opening locations in Lafayette as well! - cgb12255
