So why is Moret trying to scare us? Lafayette is Jindal country. We can't support him any more than we do already. Unless...unless, he could possibly use even more money.
...Never mind. - rambeaux rawlings

Sorry, J_Taxpayer. We did not vote the tax & spend liberals out of LA government. Many of them just switched parties in an attempt to fool the voting public. It'll probably work. - RCajunrunner

Maybe if Louisiana had a business friendly tax code we would not need to bribe business to keep them from leaving and going to states that do have a business friendly tax code, i.e TX & AZ.

We may have voted the tax & spend libs out of LA government, but the new guys have yet to fix the problem. - J_Taxpayer

I think it's just pure bullshit. "give us a bunch of money, we'll go talk to these companies 'considering' moving to Louisiana. what, how MANY jobs...well, aaaahhhhhh, 25,000 jobs. Yeah, that's it."

"don't worry, WE'LL negotiate FOR you. just give us some money. TRUST US!!! It's all for 'economic development'."

Please. Don't insult my intelligence. - ragin_cajun

Mr. Melancon in correct.
Unfortunately, business interests now enjoy bidding wars among the states to see how much they can get in order to locate in a particular area. It is nothing more than government bribing them with "corporate welfare". - IMJacquemo

"Raiding the Mega-Fund is a declaration of war on job creation in Louisiana."
-------------------

The only way government "creates" jobs is to take money from one person and give it to another. It looks good but the guy whose pocket is picked is now poorer. Some much for progress. - James Melancon
