Can someone explain to me why some people insist on calling ULL, University of Louisiana when their is no such thing? Is it because they are ashamed of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette? Why do they call ULM the University of Louisiana at Monroe? Listen folks UL is a fictional place made up by the PR boys in TCTOL (The Country Town of Lafayette). Now UL on DAT!!! - The Original Northsidian

Ooooooh it looks like ol Francis struck a nerve with fart. Why you mad fart? Can't handle the truth? And francis, what the heck is a pentaphlegm anyway? Is that something that's conjured up to favor BS victories? Was it fabricated by any angry and envious person? - Tony Matto

To Bart Zerange and Francis Landry:

Both of you need need to take a hike. Sure there are people that want the name changed but there are just as many who don't give a you know what. Please tell me, which UL events do you go to?

To NSU Demons:

You live in Natchitoches, I now understand why you are bitter. Unplug the extension cord, grease up the bearings and air up the tires on your mobile home and move out of that hell hole. Trust me, you will be much happier living elsewhere and will not have to rely on bashing UL about a name.

To Bart Zerangue, Francis Landry and NSU Demons

Please refer to LSU by its real name: LSU A&M at Baton Rouge

If we are going to be politically correct about everything let's be fair to every school. - Fart Zerange

so tell me zert, since there's no "holier than thou" attitude by the ull crowd, tell me what you think about this.

The second link is a prime example of information that is blatantly skewed so it can show that a womens softball victory is as big or bigger than a mens college football game! Want to talk about delusional fans with a holier than thou attitude? Go visit that raginpagin website and you will see the biggest bunch of whiners out there.
Since you're talking about NOT having that holier than thou attitude, what's with the constant chastising of schools such as McNeese, ULM, SELA, Denver, UALR, Western KY, etc.? Seems to me, with the exception of a couple of schools I mentioned, these guys whip ull on a pretty consistent basis on the grid iron and or baseball so maybe that's why the constant belittling. Perhaps a tad bit of envy and anger?? Nah, not from the ull crowd.

Whoa, several typos in my last post!! Pardon me please. Jazzpop, you are ABSOLUTELY correct. The heck with a name game and it's obsession by a certain group of people. It's only a certain faction the whine and without a doubt cry about it!! There are a lot more important issues at hand. A stupid name does not make a university!! It's all about academics. It could still be usl for all I care. That name will not make a school more prestigious.

To lafittethe pirate, are you for real? Bless your heart. I'm sure you have "loads" of people that just love you.... - Bart Zerangue

Much more concerned about funding issues, lost degree programs, and whether my kids will have to go out of state to get a decent education than all the sports bull shit.

Zert, what makes you think this fight will be won? It's not LSU that doesn't want and will not allow the name change! You now have McNeese St. along with Nichols, LaTech, SELA, and of couse ULM that will not allow ANY more name changes. To think or believe otherwise, you're only lying to yourself and others!! In the words of those other schools fans, they firmly believe "what makes them privy to that name and not anyone else? They tried to back door the name change illegally and were caught!"

So, this fight you and anyone else speaks of, give it up because the cards will spews be stacked against ever changing the name. It's reality and most sensible people know it. There's more Ike spent whining and crying about a name then anything ever before seen! It's really a huge embarrassment!! And one wonders why there's always ridiculing going on!! Move on! It's over and time to put it to rest! - Bart Zerangue

I didn't know you guys made extension cords too. Google UL sports and see what comes up. People outside Lafayette don't have a clue who you are. Neither do you.

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette, or UL Lafayette, is a coeducational, public research university located in Lafayette, Louisiana, United States, in the heart of Acadiana.

1984 - USL attempted to change its name to the University of Louisiana, which only lasted a few days until overturned by a district court. - NSU Demons

Bart, Why do we drag LSU into every discussion? I don't know, but in this regard I can see it. Let me answer with this: Why do lawyers bring up other similar cases/rulings in court?
Biggest cry babies? Doubt it. I see it as more passion than anything. Do you go belly up on the side of the street like road kill when others take credit for things? And as for ref's cheated us? Go read Jay's write up on this incident and you tell me what you think. Not saying the guys would have won the game, as they are playing horrid towards the end of the season.

http://espn1420.com/from-the-birds-nest-robichauxs-suspension-unwarranted/

Holier than thou? I don't follow what you're getting at here. If UL is your school, which I'm having trouble figuring out if this is correct, then you should feel we are the best in everything, athletics~academics and in between.
McNasty has a decent program, we had a not so great coach. end of story. I wish McNeese would be able to trade spots with ULM. You are showing too much self loathing on this issue. We have a new Coach things will be better with time, cheer up.
The name thing will never die. We chose a name, and the Brass, with ties with the Purple/Gold, says no, we must have stipulations and additions. You don't give up a fight which we will win. - Zert Barangue

Why must we always bring LSU into every discussion? Let's be honest here, LSU fans could honestly care less about "little ol' sli/usl/ul". And you people wonder why we are laughed at constantly! We are the biggest bunch of cry babies out there. Always complaining and crying about how so and so took this or that from us! Or even better....the rfes or umps cheated us. Some of you people need to quit with the "we are holier than thou" crap. It's an embarassment! Heck we can't even beat McNeese St. on OUR OWN field!! that's why we will always remain bottom feeders looking for droppings from everyone else and blame others for our own faults!! It's also pretty sad when our biggest all time rival is an FCS school which we have a losing record against I might add!! Get a life I you're more worried about a name then anything else. Geeez people!! - Bart Zerangue

So, it's ok for LSU to drop the baton rouge from the name and the A&M part from the official name, but we can't use UL? and where on EARTH have you EVER seen Louisville been recognized as UL???? it's always L'ville or U of L. Let UL be UL and everyone leave it alone! Geez... - ScrewLSU

Wrech Tech...Don't you have some more pressing matters...like the fact that your school just lost post-season eligibility in basketball and like a billion scholarships across the board, plus the fact that even with 400 people at the games recently, thats almost twice what yall brought to your own park on senior day? Or maybe you should worry about a plan to merge ULM with another state school so that it won't matter what you call ULM anymore, because it won't exist. I mean really, I think you have a few more things to worry about than what I call my school. Have a great day. - Tuffguy
