Speaking of Walk-Ons, YOU GUYS PARKING ON THE STREET, ITS ILLEGAL & YOU CAN GET TOWED. YES I HAVE CALLED THE CITY PD! IF Walk Ons doesn't have enuf parking space, then they should build more. I hate seeing people breaking the law.

BUT I wish more restaurants would participate, would offer discounts, and I'd rather utilize the local program, but I'll use "Seize the deal" or "Groupon", LONG AS THE FOOD IS CONSISTENTLY GOOD! "Discretionary" money is leaner and leaner these days, and I don't spend $$$$ on dining unless I'm sure to get my money's worth. I HAVE complained when the food was SO-SO. I'm not spening $22 on so-so food, boiled seafood or steaks or pasta. I can prepare myself one hell uv a dinner for $22 and I will before I go into a "so-so" unreliable dinner. Oh, and Walk-Ons, while pretty good, has forced Ground Patti to be better, and I love Ground Patti - it IS locally owned and supports this community! - BoFred

Uncle Charlie is looking great! So proud to see Charley G's doing so well and working to support the local economy! Lafayette has always had it's own individuality for it's great food, and I don't see why anyone would want to change that! I have a LIST of places I know I'm going to go to when I'm in town, and NONE of them are chains!!!!!!! - LisaP

Who would text or facebook that they are eating at MCDONALDS or OLIVE GARDEN? The purpose of EatLafayette is to promote economic growth within our city as well as bring local restaurants into the spotlight. Thank GOD we will never be like Baton Rouge. Eat at as many chains as you like but if you want the red stick, move there. - ked

written by barb , July 06, 2011 - 01:10 pm (this blog)

Your words leave me completely flummoxed. For example "locals are not in other citys" Most cities have locals unless everyone is from out-of-town which is possible but not likely. Nevertheless, I am doing my best to EatLafayette, maybe too well. - William Morvant

We need to support new chains like Walk Ons are we will never be like Baton Rouge. The locals are not in other citys and thats what makes an eatery great. Being able to eat at it when your out of town is everything. Who wants to text their friends or face book that they are eating at a local place? - barb
