@Northsidian: Should heterosexual couples who are unable to reproduce (ie: sterile), be allowed to marry?
------------------------

Marry? There are some who should not be allowed to reproduce, married or not. - Dagnabbit Jones

Father Gauthe wore both hats .
And Ignorancy is a word. Humph ! I coined it. Just like you and yours coined the word " Gay = unhygenic sexual conduct.
If you cannot reproduce then you cannot become a union in matrimony. This is an enacted law by the high courts of this land just like the beastiality law.
Oh, by the way, "Love is a two way street", it has to run both ways for it to legally and morally be declared love.

And GypsyFox the joke is on you, for I'm just ecstatic that you are "GAY.
There but for the grace of a higher power, go I... - NORTHSIDIAN SHOTGUN

@ NORTHSIDIAN SHOTGUN - is ignorancy even a word? perhanps in your IGNORANT little world it is. Let religion defend marriage, then when a gay couple wants to marry in the catholic church, they will not allow them, however the government has no place meddling in the defenition of love, thusly government sanctioned marriages should not be backed by an ultra right wing conservative view. - Erik

What does Father Gauthe have to do with this story, Northsidian? He was a pedophile, not a homosexual... - Findem

by Gypsyfox "Shame on Northsidian Shotgun and What the H for trying to make this a joke about reproductive possibilities (and probably a little homophobia) instead of a testament about love.

I am gay, so the joke is on you.

To accept homosexuality is to be progressive. Huh ?
Yeah Gypsyfox, father Gauthe was full of love.
The definition of Marriage is a MAN and a Woman unite in legal matrimony. Thats the size of it, you can cut it in any way, and put it all back together, and it is still the size of it, as it will always be. Gay marriage should be legalised the day two men or two women can REPRODUCE. This may not be an accepted fact by those afflicted with ignorancy, but because a person cannot accept homosexuality has not a single solitary connection with any gobbley root phobia, it is very likely that the person just has a distaste for same sex. When sex with an opposite sex partner is so pleasant wholly hygenic. Now, does this not make sense. - NORTHSIDIAN SHOTGUN

Two dads are perfectly capable of loving a child as much as your "traditional" family would be. If the two are raising the child, should something happen to either parent or child, all should be entitled to the rights that anyone else would be allowed.

Stop making Louisiana look so backwards. We need to move progressively forward. - JoCo

He was adopted, God bless them for wanting to provide a home for the child. I know plenty of straight couples who shouldnt have children, perhaps the child was better off rotting in an orphanage? - Erik

This issue has recently affected two friends of mine - a married man and woman. When they married, she kept her maiden name and did not take his name. They recently had their first child and the state would not allow them to include both the mother's and father's last names.

This has been a painful issue for the mother and her family, in particular.

It is time for Louisiana to move on and progress! More and more women are choosing not to take their husband's names when they marry and more and more couple are choosing not to marry at all! Louisiana needs to allow both parents' names on the birth certificate. - Erin Fitzgerald

I'm sure the child will appreciate that he/she had "two dads" who wanted him/her rather than a "mom" or "mom and dad" who obviously didn't or couldn't. Shame on Northsidian Shotgun and What the H for trying to make this a joke about reproductive possibilities (and probably a little homophobia) instead of a testament about love. - Gypsyfox

What a confusing issue, pray tell how two men can be responsible for the existence of this child, egad not even by immaculate conception. Impossible ! - NORTHSIDIAN SHOTGUN
