I continue to be amazed by those who claim to have faith in the mythical Judeo-Christian deity. Believers like Broussard remind me of abused spouses who always make excuses for the abuser blaming themselves for anything bad and praising the abuser for all that is good in life. How an allegedly all-loving, all-powerful, all-knowing, etc., god put his faithful creation, Ms. Broussard, through a living hell for many years before finally allowing her to find the "right" medical professionals who could diagnose her rare condition. Her god destroyed her health, which forced her out of work, out of her home & into a shelter, losing her beloved child, suffering physically, emotionally & mentally as she struggled to have her illness diagnosed and treated for many years. Yet, Ms. Broussard and most of her fellow believers still heap praise upon this vicious, mean-spirited, sick & twisted deity that seems to delight in the suffering of his creation. I am very thankful that I do not have such a distorted and delusional worldview. I know my illness is based on biological factors known via evidence-based and researched science and the advances in treatment has come from such research rather than faith-based fantasies that seem to be the healthcare plan of so many people who believe that a supernatural power exists. If this story wasn't so sad and tragic it would be laughable given the ignorance shown by the faith-based community. - Robert Carver, MA
