Resident --

I attended Boustany's town hall yesterday. There was no screening and Boustany was asked very uncomfortable questions about his vote to raise the debt ceiling. Had you gone, you could have raised your hand and you would probably have been selected by the Congressman to ask your questions.

BUT...he would not have given a substantive answer to your question. He certainly didn't give a satisfactory answer to mine. So you didn't miss much.

According to Boustany yesterday, if the "Super" Committee doesn't come to an agreement that will pass Congress, automatic cuts are triggered in Defense spending and Medicare.

Does Colbert get some kind of royalty payment from Congress for the use of "Super" before Committee? Or for using Colbert's idea to pull a public joke on the the entire American public? SuperPAC...SuperCommittee....same result, right?

This country's headed for default, interest rates will be 20% in two years, and the best that Congress can do is to plagiarize a late night comedian. - ragin_cajun

Different Resident here. Psst, 'resident', have you seen me around before or did you just happen to use the same username I've been using for years?

Anyway, Boustany won't answer questions like 'resident' posted at the Town Hall because he doesn't take questions from people who aren't already aligned with his talking points (Foxaholics, Rushbots, etc.). My phone rang one day and I was asked to join a "discussion" going on between Boustany and his constituency. I thought that just maybe I'd have a chance to ask him some real questions. A staffer actually got on the phone and asked me what questions I had for Boustany. Turns out this was the screening to weed out the undesirables from the loyal sheep. I told the staffer that I'd like to ask Dr. Boustany two questions. 1) With all the talk about cutting spending, how can you not include the ridiculous amount of military spending which will approach $700 billion next year? 2) What will you, Dr. Boustany, do about the immense degree of corporate influence on Congressional legislation?

Of course, I did not get to ask these questions. It was painfully obvious that they only allowed shallow softball questions, partisan rants, and diatribes against Obama to be broadcast over the "discussion." So I don't think a Town Hall will be any better. What kind of screening will they have there? - Resident

You're incorrect, it will be Jeff Landry who'll become a lobbyist because Congressman Boustany will beat him in the 2012 election. - To "resident"

What I want to know is how much money Boustany will make when he becomes a Lobbyist for a big Pharma Company?

Maybe he can explain why the Military Industrial Complex can't help ole uncle sam out? We've been feeding those FAT DISGUSTING PIGS like a free for all buffet since 9/11 gave them carte Blanche to our tax dollars. You'd think after the back door deals with countries like Saudi Arabia , you know like where we the tax payers give 1.3 billion dollars a year to Egypt so they can buy weapons from these SCUMBAGS SUCKING THE LIFE OUT OF THIS COUNTRY, they could help a poor country out. Oh and wait, what is the current political status of this country that we have been ARMING TO THE TEETH? Oh yea it's a Military junta. Gee we might just be fighting our OWN freaking weapons soon. Deja vous huh? Good thing we just decided to sell 60 BILLION dollars worth of weapons to Saudi Arabia, I'm sure they'll help because their government is a... Oh yea... Islamic absolute monarchy. Besides we need it to pay the 3 BILLION a year we give to Israel and the additional 30 BILLION we've committed to over the next decade.

CARE TO EXPLAIN THAT BOUSTANY?

No I'm sure you'd like to tell us how brave you were sticking our neck on the line with your stupid game of economic chicken.

Also I wonder if he can recommend a proctologist, he must know one because big corporations have their so far up his he must need daily reconstructive surgery. - resident
