Ah, the answer is before the state voters eyes....... Short memory banks and all. When you have 40 % on the government dole and 11 % stupid voters, thats a majority, we lose ... Tell me then, how are we going to ever change politics and have it above board, transparent for all, when couillions like Robideaux sell out for a political position. - NORTHSIDIAN SHOTGUN

To the Group:

It is not either party affiliation or how they vote! It is the quality of the legislation being offered for consideration. Remember, Government is not business! It is public service---not a scam to become rich! - Gaius Cilnius Maecenas

I think it'd be nice if Robideaux would just read the bills. I can tell you, he didn't have a clue what was in HB-531, and he introduced it. - ragin_cajun

"Now that they all have an R. How do we know the bad guys."

Party affiliation is a horrible way to determine the bad guys from the good guys.

We should judge Congressmen, Legislators and Councilmen by their VOTING RECORDS. Party affiliation is just a label, much like campaign speeches. The only thing that should really matter is how they vote. - RCajunrunner

I remember that article from the IND on Robideaux, almost swoon over him because he was an "Independent". He was "above the party fray".

Now he switches to Republican Party SOLELY to advance his political career and become House Speaker. How's that for principles?

And he had to go to the Governor's office to apparently cut a deal in the process? - independent?

Congratulations to Joel Robideaux! In Louisiana, Party affiliation is meaningless. Jindal's response is mindless boilerplate. I did not realize that "reforms" of State policies have an ideological dimension. These presumed "reforms" will not grow our economy, nor will they improve the 'effectiveness' and 'efficiency' of State services. Government is not business! It is public welfare of the common good! The terms 'efficient' and 'effective' belong in a business environment or setting. These two terms are actually metaphors borrowed from Physics and Biological Systems.

The end results will be less services, and more crappy services to our people!

Joel is a great man from our land; I should have thought that Jindal could have expended at least five minutes of thinking to particularize his observations on the fine achievement of this extraordinary man!

P.S. To the Democratic Party: Don't even bother with the pretense of running a candidate for governorship this next election. Let their fell policies destroy our State; then as usual, a Democrat must come in to clean up the Republican mess! - Gaius Cilnius Maecenas

I can't wait until all Louisiana politicians have a "R" next to their name. That way people will vote on issues and not just for the guy with the "D" or "R" next to their name. - Don Corleone
