If, we would'nt have pseudo heroes, we would'nt have any heroes.. it is by far the greatest of feats to have been
a " Contender, than to have never dared to step into the ring.

It has always bothered me that people & politicians say. "Look what they/I have done for us." When actually it is us (the taxpaying workers/business owners) who have always footed the bill. The politicians only spend and steal and waste what we send them in taxes. And then after they piss it all away, they come to us for tax increases. This happens way to much and it is time for the people to vote against all new taxes!!

Now as far as Edwards & Jindal are concerned when they meet at the top of the mountain and look at each other. What do they see? They see the same face. That of a bullshiting politician!! - the original northsidian

Okay, I'm not a fan of the current do-nothing govna, but I'll not support EWE for a pardon or a political run either. I am a big fan of Edwards, admire him for a lot of reasons and remember the the great roads he made sure La had, but he's a convicted criminal. He blew it. He got his son involved in his criminal dealings for heaven sake! His intelligence was outweighed by his arrogance, I guess, because he was convicted. I think it would be a grave miscarriage of justice for him to be pardoned. I wish him well, but I sure hope he retires with his bride into obscurity. - Mo

I cannot fathom WHY people want EWE back in office. The man was a crook and an embarrassment to our state! I was so excited to be able to vote when I turned 18. The David Duke vs EWE election was the first election that I had the opportunity to vote in and I couldn't bring myself to vote for either because then I would have either been a racist or a FOOL! Voting EWE back into office would put us right up there with Washington D. C. after they elected Marion Barry back as mayor after his jail time...we would be the laughingstock of the country...AGAIN!! EWE is NOT the solution to ANY problem that may be facing our state. Louisiana may not be perfect but it far better off than when EWE was Governor. Come on Louisiana....WE ARE BETTER THAN THIS!! - Stupid is as stupid does

EWE is my man. One of the most intelligent people I've ever met and he did an excellent job as governor. Also, he could beat the jerk we now have holding the position of governor but spending more time out of state than in our state. - Gene Broussard

Should Governor Edwards be pardoned by President Obama? Absolutely! This is for him [Edwards] to do. He knows how to do it quietly and effectively. There does not need to be a fanfare.

He is part of our historical, colorful Louisianian culture. He has achieved what no other Governor had achieved---four-term Governor! When great men fall into disgrace, some of their finest achievements occur afterwards.

I am still waiting for the great man to write his political Memoirs. He was extremely good to his fellow Cajuns, and many of our old families here owe their wealth to the opportunities he provided by good policy decisions.

Furthermore, he is a brilliant man with a photographic memory. I don't want to nominate him for sainthood here, but merely to state the obvious. He looked out for the interests of the little man in the FDR mould. I assert these observations because I have visited too many homes in the rural area, black and white, where you see three pictures hanging on the walls in the living room---Jesus Christ, Martin Luther King, Jr. and Governor Edwin Washington Edwards! He was named well by his parents. "Edwin" means in Anglo-Saxon, "friend of wealth" and "Edwards" means in Anglo-Saxon, "guardian of wealth." Indeed, 'nomen omen est', he was both! - Gaius Cilnius Maecenas
