I got a thousand to a Meche's Donut, that MR.RIVAH RANCHY "The FATSO BALD HEADED GEEZER, with the red dixie cup full of Old Southern, and his blue-haired old lady with the frou frou tennis shorts with the roadmap legs, owe LCG and the cronys, more REDFLEX fine money, than everyone in town combined. - HARD HAT

Joey's background in business prepared him for the job of parish president, sheeet, joey could'nt make a profit selling alpo bits and cockatiel bird seed, and this sat so well with the soliciting puppet masters.
If joey was a working girl, ("Lady of the night) he'd starve with all the cronys he now has to subsidize.
If joey was a working girl, joey could'nt make a profit on a troop train, too many pimpsters. - HARD HAT

Those Redflex cameras in RR... there are so many concentrated on two nearby intersections... really ugh up the wonderful, planned and perfected ambiance of such an architectural triumph.
Where is the unity of concept?

I don't know why Lasala or Oubre didn't insist they install the photo ticketing machinery in cute, architecturally relevant housings.

I mean, I am confused on so many levels here. The Ind is all about architectural perfection and design excellence, so why are they for Redflex?

The Ind is so freedom-minded, yet supports Durel, who is a conservative who used to sell little critters that should be free from human capture... - snaildarter

First off, everyone should always drive safely and abide by the traffic laws set forth! Now, regarding these red light scameras, it's a simple as not paying that junk mail invoice if you just so happen to receive one in the mail. NOTHING about those stupid things is law binding. Do not be fooled into thinking that your credit will be tarnished if you do not pay them. All of it is a total and complete scam, just like the current LCG! I was once told by someone that worked under the late Bowen administration that the traffic engineers PURPOSELY set the light intervals to create back ups in traffic. Just drive around lafayette and you will see what I'm talking about. I was told this is done to create the impression that the city is on par with the likes of New Orleans, Shreveport, Baton Rouge, Houston, etc. Apparently this current administration is all about themselves and their quaint little personal agenda. Rest assured folks, the LCG is ONLY about personal goals and agendas and nothing more. Why does the pet shop boy continue to go against public will and do what HE thinks is best for lafayettte? He is padding his pockets almost as fast as obama is. The sad part is, people continue to fall for these clowns as though they can do no wrong. I ask, what has the pet shop boy done to better lafayette? All we ever hear is how there needs to be more taxes/taxing districts to cover their apparent blunders. Prime example: lus fiber to the home. It's apparently losing money left and right and now there's this after the fact screw up by the company that laid the cables under ground. Anyone think the company awarded the contract slid ol' pet shop boy or one of his cronies some "special gifts" to secure the job? - cajunfun

Why wouldn't the mayor try to negotiate a better deal for the citizens of Lafayette? I thought that he was going to run the govt. like a business. This does not make good business sense. - Frankie

This doesnt surprise me one bit. Joey and his cronies doing behind the scenes, shady dealings to make their wallets fatter. Succumb to the almighty dollar Mr Durel.

Oh, and keep outsourcing Law Enforcement.

Lafayette is in a fast moving out-of-control downhill spiral where only the fat-cats get to be on top.

Mass exodus incoming .... - Business as usual

http://www.thenewspaper.com/news/35/3568.asp

Evidently, the cameras are coming down as fast as they are going up all over the United States. I have never been a fan of the cameras. If they are there to slow people down and cut down on accidents then why are they located in RR? I remember a news story done by Louis David that said Johnston at Ambassador Caffery, Johnston at South College and Pinhook at Kaliste Saloom were the most dangerous intersections in Lafayette. Why then do we have cameras at only one of the three? Why, because the cameras have been installed in locations to bring in the most money, not reduce accidents. I think it's time to do as they did in Houston and put it to the people for a vote. What are they afraid of? The only people making money with this program are the owners and shareholders of Redflex. Redflex has taken the law out of law enforcement. I am tired of "Big Brother" monitoring my movements. Anyone else agree? - JMLLAF

So let's put a camera and microphone in every office, bathroom, and hallway in every public building in Lafayette. That way, every conversation every politician

That's been tried; remember Randy Hundley? That Jeffery guy in City Hall? Coincidence?????.........

Remember, Oettinger said he "did not have access to legal research in other states" but he did call and speak to the mayor of Sulphur!!! City Council needs it's own legal adviser! - realitycheck

That opinion might as well have been signed by Bugs Bunny!

After the story about all the people who have ran up huge fines at the red light cameras with no consequence, why would anyone even care about this? Some people have called the lottery a "dumb tax" because you are stupid for playing it. But really, anyone who is still paying those Red Flex fines just isn't paying attention.

All the best,

Soop - Soop.

The mayor has proven to be uncapable of dealing with Redflex. This would be a good time to put red light camera's on the ballot and take the monkey off of the mayors back. When the camera's are voted out there will be nobody to take the blame. - Frankie

" if you don't like the cameras, don't speed or run red lights. Is it really that hard?"

Now I get it! I finally understand. RedFlex is nothing more than the logical extension of technology to a very old law enforcement. I've changed my mind!

Now that we've proven the concept with a relatively minor law enforcement problem -- running red lights -- I think it's time to put this proven technology to use in Lafayette at solving some REAL law enforcement problems.

The biggest problem in Lafayette is political corruption. So let's put a camera and microphone in every office, bathroom, and hallway in every public building in Lafayette. That way, every conversation every politician, appointee, and public employee has will be recorded. If they don't waste tax dollars, they won't have a problem, right? No brother-in-law deals, it shouldn't be a problem, right? - ragin_cajun
