My grandpa said, "If he took it from BP, that's bad. If he gave it away, that's good. The udder one, he gonna be taking from the taxpayer for years and years and years. Me, I gotta go to UMC and it aint' bad, but I gotta wait. The udder one, he go to the best hospital when he wants and I gotta pay for it. That's bad. I'm always gonna vote for the one who don't take it from me." He's old, but not necessarily senile. - Morrow

I haven't heard Billy Nungesser say a single thing about his plans to operate the Department of Culture, Recreation & Tourism, the Lt. Governor's #1 job. He's clearly out of his depth and grasping at straws to attain a higher office. That's not what our state's second-largest industry needs; tourism needs someone with clear focus and the ability to promote our state not only to tourists, but to create an image for our great state that reverberates from individuals through to businesses, film studios and retirees.

Dardenne has done an admirable job spearheading the state's marketing division and needs to leave the mudslinging to a backwater amateur like Nungesser. - Robert J. Wilson

That sounds like the pot calling the kettle black. Nungasser was given two huge powerboats by BP after the spill, only giving them away when the press called attention to the hypocrisy. Considering how he puts the "welfare" of the shrimp industry, huge supports of his political career, before the restoration of the coast in Plaquemines Parish -- running the Mississippi Diversion projects at partial if any power -- his campaign's concerns with ethical breeches is hypocritical at best. - Marthe Reed
