Coach Hud knew exactly what he was doing. While the Cajun program didn't qualify as a sleeping giant it did offer a tremendous upside. Talented LA HS players were looking for a good place to play in state, Lafayette fans were looking for a team to call their own, and a new administration acknowledged the significance and costs of a successful football program. Add an unusually favorable schedule, a veteran defense, and experience at QB and the opportunity was there. Hud obviously had a hunch. - rambeaux rawlings

Hudspeth has brought life to not just an athletic program that desperately needed it but to a university and community that has been craving it since the historic win against Texas A&M that feels like a lifetime ago. I'm excited about the future of the program and hope he sticks around long enough to put us on a permanent path for success. Thanks Coach Hud! - Brian Bille
